The Tiffen 127mm Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter helps to reduce the value of the highlights while noticeably lowering the overall contrast. This filter is especially useful for smoothing out and softening facial wrinkles and other blemishes. While designed for use with movies, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters provide little loss of detail across the image. The 1/4 density provides more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/8, but less than the 1/2, while also allowing for a soft, pastel-like quality of light.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you link this to a computer and see live images on your computer screen?

A: Yes. You would need a suitable camera, adapter and software obviously, but thats true for any telescope. A planetary camera such as ZWO will directly fit into the telescope eyepiece holder without any adapters required. A DSLR camera will need a T-adapter and mount ring for the camera make and model to fit in place of the eyepiece. If your DSLR has live view capability you can see the view without a computer. In either case you should be able to view the stream on a computer tethered via a USB cable or wirelessly if your camera supports WiFi. Im assuming you are running a compatible live view software for the camera on your computer.

Q: 2. Does this telescope have large asteroids (Ceres, Vesta etc.) in it's database?

A: No, asteroids are not featured in the NexStar hand controllers database; however, you can manually enter in an asteroid's RA and DEC coordinates to command the telescope to slew to an asteroid. You can also add the SkyPortal WiFi Module and using the free planetarium app, SkyPortal, command the telescope slew to asteroids in its database. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 3. Are there 1/4-20 holes in the dovetail so the scope can be put ton a photo tripod? What are the outside dimensions of the the Scope?

A: Yes, you can put it on a regular tripod and I have done it when I used it to look at the animals. The threads are compatible with the quick release plate. I haven't measured the dimensions so I can't answer your other question.

Q: 4. What is the weight of the optical tube without accessories (no lens cap, finder, diagonal, or eyepiece)?

A: The OTA is about 6 lbs.

Q: 5. Can this scope be slewed manually across the sky without losing goto settings?

A: Yes you can! You need to do the aligning setup every time you turn on the computer!!! (which sucks but i think its understandable) Once you start to track an object you can do corrections in every direction which does not effect your settings. Also you can manually slew in every direction without losing your goto setups since they are stored in the computer and if you have aligned correctly.

Q: 6. Does this come with a case?

A: A case is not included.

Q: 7. I NEED A COUNTER WEIGHT AND EXTENSION BAR FOR MAY POWER SEEKER 127EQ HOW CAN I GET THE PARTS NUMBERS AND ORDER THE PARTS.THANK YOU DJ ?

A: Please contact our technical support team and a representative will be able to assist you in finding the right parts. The best way to reach them is by submitting a ticket here: https://www.celestron.com/pages/technical-support

Q: 8. Can this scope use the Celestion AutoAlign ?

A: Yes, the Celestron StarSense AutoAlign is compatible with the NexStar 127SLT. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 9. Does this scope support the StarSense AutoAlign?

A: Yes, it is compatible.

Q: 10. Will a Cell phone hook up to it for pictures?

A: Yes, one can connect a smartphone to the Celestron NexStar 127SLT 127mm f/12 Maksutov-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope with an adapter. A very good option would be the Celestron NexYZ DX 3-Axis Smartphone Digiscoping Kit, BH #CENEXYZDXK (https://bhpho.to/3EHROPn).
