If you are using it as an ordinary camcorder, such as at weddings, parties or sporting events, and you can view the display while recording the video, then Wi-Fi might be an unnecessary expense. However, if you're using it ways where you can't see the display, such as mounting it on a bicycle helmet, then adjusting the view via Wi-Fi on an Android device is probably worth it. The quality of the recording is identical with either version.
