The beige B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sensitivity, with Hardwired TA4F Connector for Electro-Voice Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.
Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to an Electro-Voice 2000 Series or 2500 Series wireless bodypack transmitter.
Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.
The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.
The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.
Standard, for most uses.

Q: 1. Tascam DR-70D Reference Manual, D01244120B, page 15. You can monitor the input signals when the unit is stopped using headphones, for example.Does that mean monitoring cannot be done while recording?
A: You can fully monitor while recording or not. Ive got this unit. Love it. Great build quality & sound.
Q: 2. Is there a d-tap cable or other method to power this recorder from a V-Mount battery? Or a source that will last longer then AA batteries?
A: This can be powered via the AA bateries, USB bus power or AC.
Q: 3. can you monitor each channel input separated? like in the dr60
A: One online YouTube reviewer says this is not possible. I have not independently verified. This might change depending on firmware, although the capability would not be very useful if the feature cannot be utilized on the fly during recording, not simply presented by menu choices.
Q: 4. Can I use a Sennheiser ew 100 ENG G3 Wireless Microphone System Combo - B (626-668 MHz) with the DR-70D?
A: The Sennheiser Combo system ships with output cables that will allow you to connect the receiver to the Tascam DR70D via XLR or 3.5mm input jacks.
Q: 5. How do I input the stereo mini plug (3.5mm) from a Rode Video mic or similar . I actually only want to use it as a mono source. Do I need a mini to XLR adapter?
A: If you wish to connect to a source with an XLR input than yes you will need an adapter. Otherwise you can plug into the standard 3.5mm jack with the included wire and choose to only use one channel.
Q: 6. Can this be used as a sound with sound recorder? Could record two tracks, then add three and four while listening to the first two? [to add instruments or narration]?
A: Yes, the DR-70D is a 4-track multi-track recorder so you can overdub additional tracks.
Q: 7. How does this unit's preamp compare to a Sound Devices MM-1, Mix Pre-d or 302?
A: Preamps are great. No difference between them and the preamps on my Soundcraft and Mackie boards./
Q: 8. Can anyone explain this to me please?Frequency response20-20kHz +0.5/-2dB(LINE IN or MIC IN to LINE OUT, Fs44.1k/48k Hz, JEITA)20-40kHz +0.5/-3dB(LINE IN or MIC IN to LINE OUT, Fs96kHz, JEITA)
A: The frequency responses listed are based on different sampling rates with different measurement variables to offer the most honest ratings.
Q: 9. Does the unit provide phantom power?
A: The Tascam DR70D is able to prove phantom power to all of the XLR mic inputs.
Q: 10. How many hours of recording time (when using standard Engergizer or Duracell AA batteries) if you were to record all 4 tracks at 24 bit 96 khz?
A: Using alkaline batteries with general usage, built in mics, or non powered mics, the Tascam DR-70D should be able to achieve 5-6 hours operation time. Using phantom power with multiple mics connected can reduce your battery life up to 60%.
