The Deep Hypo Developing Tray from Cescolite is a high-impact, scratch-resistant plastic tray that holds fiber- and resin-coated prints up to 16 x 20" in size.

The tray has a deeper bottom than a usual tray, so it can accommodate a number of prints while they're in the hypo bath. A pouring lip in one of the corners of the tray makes it easy to dispose of chemicals.

A: It does not have a stabilizer but if you are shooting modern color negative film, a "stabilizer bath" is not necessary. Up until the mid 90's, the final rinse bath in the C-41 process was called a "stabilizer bath," since it contained Formaldehyde or Formalin. Modern color film emulsions include chemical stabilizers within the film emulsion itself.

Q: 5. It seems that all film processors can develop & mount slides with now scratches, but none of them do the same thing with negative. They depend on Digital ICE and over sharpen the pictures. Has anyone taken the Ilford negatives and scanned them? Were they essentially scratch free?

A: Kenneth, I used Illford on only 2 or 3 ocassions. The negatives they have sent back have been free on any kind of scratches.I have never scanned them but usually use a magnifying glass.

A: The following chemistry is designed to process approximately eight rolls of 35mm x 36 exp. or 120 film in one use. The only real way to check if you chemistry is still good from storage is to test it, just snip off a piece of film with the light to expose it, and place it in the developer. It should turn quickly.
