The Tiffen 127mm UV Haze 1 Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How's this lens on the Sony FS7 ? Works well for video and no compatibility issues?

A: The Distagon T* FE 35mm f/1.4 ZA Lens is fully compatible with the Sony FS7.

Q: 2. Does this lens 24-240 compatible with Sony A7s ?

A: Yes it is compatible.

Q: 3. Would this work on an a6300? And is it ideal for astrophotography?

A: This will work on the a6300 and will bring everything possible out of that APS-C sensor. It is of exceptional quality so the big bug-a-boo of astrophotography, coma, should not be an issue. The f/1.4 will give you the light you need without undue loss of sharpness. I would caution that on the a6300 APS-C a 35mm creates approximately a 40° field of view coverage which is some what narrow for astrophotography. If you have a 18mm and need something tighter than this will be a terrific choice.

Q: 4. Will the RRS foot LCF-11 fit the tripod collar?

A: No, the Really Right Stuff LCF-11 will not fit the Nikon NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S Lens. For this lens use the LCF-21 Really Right Stuff Foot for NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR-S Lens, BH #RELCF21 (https://bhpho.to/3JmIQGs).

Q: 5. Is 50 cm the real minimum distance ? Thanks from ... Paris, France

A: Yes at 70mm zoom position the minimum focus distance is 50 cm.

Q: 6. How does this lens' manual focus compare to that of a mechanical focus lens?

A: It is similar and does allow for very precise focusing, but does not have hard stops like a mechanical focus lens.

Q: 7. Does the lens extend under its own weight? If yes, is there a lens lock switch, specifically to hold it in 24mm?

A: From what I have seen this lens does not succumb to "Lens Creep" luckily. Most of Nikons high quality Z mount lenses do not have this issue.

Q: 8. Do you have a solar filter for this lens? Thanks!

A: Not yet. I have purchased solar filter paper. I plan to make a filter for my 150-600 lens and if there is enough left, make one for this lens also.

Q: 9. I was wondering if I can use the 24-240mm lens on this camera until I can afford to purchase the 2.8 24-70mm lens to go with this camera. I am going to purchase the new Sony A9 camera and the cost of the camera and that 2.8 24-70mm lens is a little bit beyond my budget right now. So I thought I would purchase the 24-240mm lens instead for now because of the lower cost and I thought that it would be nice to have that extra reach. but I know that the 2.8 24-70mm lens is a faster lens which is better for low light photography. Thank You!

A: I use the 24-240 as a daily use lens, it does a great job and it's not too cumbersome to use all day - for landscape and some nearby wildlife.

Q: 10. Can this lens be mounted on Olympus Pen Lite cameras? Specifically the E-PL6 model.

A: Yes buddy, you can. Actually you can mount this lens on any micro 4/3 compatible mount, particularly Panasonic and Olympus cameras, but not only those.
