The Tiffen 86mm Warm Black Diffusion/FX 5 Filter diffuses strong light entering the lens and produces a glowing effect. While the resulting image appears softer and ethereal, there is little loss of clarity or detail. This filter works by diffusing the light entering the lens with small aberrations; by spreading the light more evenly, a soft glow is created rather than the sharp, well-defined image when shooting without a filter. In addition to the diffusion provided, a warming effect is also integrated into the filter helping to further balance skin tones. This filter has a 5 density, providing a very noticeable amount of softening.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Diffuser filter provides an ethereal quality to photographs, resulting in a dream-like atmosphere.

Soft image quality does not detract from the overall detail of the image.

Additional warmth provided adds more of a glowing effect and helps to further balance skin tones.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens be compatible with electronic focus on a Ronin RS2 and a bmpcc 4k?

A: The Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 II ASPH. Lens is compatible on the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. And will autofocus.

Q: 2. can this product be used with Sony ALPHA 7 camera

A: As the Sony E PZ 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens is designed for the NEX lens mount, the lens will fit onto the Sony Alpha a7 Mirrorless Digital Camera. However, do note that the Sony Alpha a7 Mirrorless Digital Camera is a full-frame camera, and the Sony E PZ 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens is designed for APS-C cropped sensors. As such, the use of the Sony E PZ 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens will reduce the image's maximum megapixel count from 24 megapixels down to 10 megapixels if you use the APS-C crop mode. If you do not use the APS-C crop mode, then there will be a black vignette around the edge of your image where the smaller rear end of the lens is blocking light from reaching the full-frame sensor.

Q: 3. Does this work with the z6 iii?

A: Yes, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Lens for Mirrorless Cameras with UV Filter Kit is compatible with the Nikon Z6 III Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 4. I'm asking this since there is not tripod mount for this lens. Just wondering if anybody is using this with the a7 (not a7ii) and a tripod. Does the a7 feel solid enough to support this lens?

A: Yes I use it with the A7R on a tripod and I do not have a problem with the weight. Nevertheless it is not a sharp lens, it is actually very bad for its price. Images shot with a longer focal length than 120mm are soft. At 240mm is extremely soft. And since there is no way to make a microadjustment on the camera (it should not need it because it is a mirrorless), I have not found a way to fix this. I will try to sell it and buy something else. I am very disappointed at the poor quality of this lens. If you want to see a comparison between a 70-200mm Canon lens and this 24-240mm lens let me know.

Q: 5. WHICH EYEPIECE WILL BOOST THE POWER TO CIRCA 60X FOR TERRESTIAL VIEWING ?

A: Because you can use any 1.25" eyepiece with the C5 spotting scope, an eyepiece of 20mm will get you close to 60x at 62.5x. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 6. If you Shake this lens very gently, would you feel there are something move in the lens? Or if you push the front part in the radial direction, would it move little bit and feel there is a little gap?

A: those issues are normal for this lens and others. It is the internal mechanism and is nothing to worry about.

Q: 7. I have the Nikon Z with FTZ adaptor for my existing Nikon FS lenses including the FS 24-70 2.8 ED. Is this new lens an improvement?

A: Yes, the 24-70mm Z lens is excellent and is an improvement over the F mount 24-70.

Q: 8. Does version 2 have a metal focus ring or is it still rubber?

A: Yes, the Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 II ASPH Lens does feature a metal focus ring covered with rubber for better grip.

Q: 9. Would this lens be compatible with Sony ZV-E10? I would like to use it for wedding photography.

A: Yes, the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens is compatible with the Sony ZV-E10 camera. Please be aware that this lens will crop by 1.5x when used on your camera.

Q: 10. Has anyone used this as a spotting scope for benchrest shooting? If so, what would be the maximum effective yardage for viewing the target?

A: I really would not recommend this for Benchrest Shooting. I would go with something with a zoom eyepiece. This model really acts like a telescope with different interchangeable eyepieces. I would personally recommend the Redfield Rampage 20-60x80 Spotting Scope Kit. This would be a good choice for Benchrest Target Shooting.
