Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi, will this roll fit on the Canon pro 4000 large format printer?

A: Yes, this roll is made for this and all other 44" Wide Format Ink Head based roll fed printers.

Q: 2. Compatible with Canon Pixma printers? Moab has no ICC color profile for Canon Pixma. How do prints look using Pixma default printer settings?

A: Yes the Moab papers are compatible and they have ICC profiles that are downloadable from their website.

Q: 3. Can you buy envelopes separately?

A: Please email AskBH@a href= http://BHPhoto.com target= _blank BHPhoto.com/a for what type of envelopes you are looking for for recommendations.

Q: 4. Will this paper load into an Epson P800 with the roll paper feeder?

A: Yes, the Moab Juniper Baryta Rag 305 Paper (17" x 50' Roll) should work with the Epson Roll Media Adapter for the SureColor P800.

Q: 5. Is it long-grained or short-grained?

A: Hi Philip, Most of the Moab 13x19 (A3+) sheet sizes are Grain Short. The grain direction is indicated on the reverse side of the Moab label. Embedded within the lot number are the letters GS or GL, indicating Grain Short or Grain Long

Q: 6. Is the finish completely smooth or is there a texture or stipple pattern? Canson's Infinity Baryta is almost completely smooth which makes the paper look like RC paper.

A: Slight texture and it very much has the look and feel of a traditional fiber paper ... definitely not like RC. To my eye the paper is slightly warm. It prints beautifully, both color and B&W, and has become my primary exhibition paper for my personal work.

Q: 7. Is the paper grain parallel to the short side or the long side? Apparently the label is marked GS if it is short grain.

A: There is no way we can know in advance what batch we'll get from Moab, but yes if it has a GS it will mean 'short grain'. Moab cuts the paper from a roll & it depends how they slice it up. Although the paper is smooth people that want to fold the paper (i.e. for cards) would be very specific in the grain direction so the paper folds smoothly.

Q: 8. Is the paper short grain or long?

A: You'll probably have to work directly with B&H to get a specific grain direction for this particular paper. I've got 8 1/2 x 11 and it is grain long; another person mentioned they had 8 1/2 x 11 and it was grain short. The grain direction for this paper is listed on the back of the box as part of the lot number; you will either see a two-letter code of GS or GL within the lot number (e.g. 21055GL0218).

Q: 9. Is this paper compatible with an Epson 9000 printer?

A: The Epson Stylus Pro 9000? Yes it would be compatible.

Q: 10. Canon Pixma printer compatiblity? No ICC profile available from Moab. How do prints look with Pixma?

A: PIXMA represents a large line of different printers from Canon. For best results, choose a profile that's closest to the type of paper you're using. With the Moab Entrada Rag Bright 190 Paper (4 x 6", 50 Sheets) (B&H# MOEB1904650) cotton rag you may wish to choose a profile for the Canon Premium Fine Art Smooth Paper (17 x 22", 25 Sheets) (B&H# CA1711C005): https://bhpho.to/3yfmr8J

I've only printed B&W so far but that is what I usually print. The prints look fantastic. I like the feel of rag papers. The surface has a sheen when viewed from an angle - not a glossy surface but not like a matte paper. When viewed normally the surface disappears and the print looks great. Nice deep blacks but not a glossy paper. Recommend it.

Nice heavy paper. Fantastic for B&W! I had to increase the vacuum on my Canon ipf6400 but once that was set I'm good to go. I really wanted a baryta paper with no optical brighteners and this one is just what I've been waiting for. The price is right too!

I use this paper in three different sizes as to make a collage that is consistent in presentation as possible. Good Stuff!

I've printed on a lot of high-end ink-jet papers over the years, most of them were very, very good, but the Moab Juniper Baryta Rag 305 became my go-to paper a long time ago. It's excellent for color and b/w work, the surface most closely resembles the air-dried printing papers I used in the darkroom. Absolutely gorgeous.

I had high hopes for this paper when I purchased it. I've had high hopes before and been disappointed with printing media and printers. This paper was outstanding. The depth of the black and whites I printed feel are the same as darkroom quality. The paper feels amazing and the images are complemented by the incredible surface of this paper. Each print belongs in an art gallery. A+

Great paper. It's not cheap (although it costs less than other equivalent brands) but - it is very good. My wife and I printed many prints on it and the really poppe . We belong to a camera club (PWWCC) in NYS and everybody loves our prints. Of course, you have to print the right picture on the right paper. This is a matte paper that is especially good for B&W pictures and (what my wife likes) IR (infrared) photos. They look great on this papers. However, the color look good too. What I suggest is to buy a 8.5' x 11 first and test it. If you like it ... buy the big size.

I have evaluated this paper and I am pleased with the image quality with deep blacks and bright whites. I recommend it to everyone to try for themselves. It is less expensive that other papers in teh same category.
