The highly reliable V-mount battery mount is becoming more and more prevalent on many new broadcast and professional camcorders.

As Li-Ion is memory-free, batteries can be charged from any state regardless of the batteries' charge status. Each IDX Li-ion battery has a built-in microprocessor that enables direct communication with the chargers' program to individually select for each battery the correct charge program specific to that battery.

As with all IDX chargers, the VAL-4S's power switch is recessed to prevent an accidental loss of power. A worldwide, auto-sensing AC power (100-240V) operation is standard.

A: The d-tap on the IDX System Technology CUE-D75 as we understand is power out only. We do not list any but V-mount chargers as being compatible. In general, for the best performance and longest battery life, stay in the family and use chargers that match the battery.

A: I'm not totally familiar with this Switronix unit. I know Switronix makes good products so I would not hesitate using the charger. However, I'm a believer in using the original battery's manufacturer charger to be assured that it meets the correct electrical needs of the battery.

Q: 5. will a Pro-X XC-2LSD charger work with this battery?

A: Yes it will work but it is best to match batteries with chargers from the same manufacturer. if you mix and match brands sometimes you run into glitches such as the charger stopping mid charge.

A: Yes, this charger will allow you to charge other brands of V-Mount batteries. It will work with batteries beyond the IDX brand.

A: Yes it will. If you have the V-Mount battery plate and the proper FS5 power adapter this battery will work.

A: Generally, batteries can be charged by other brand chargers. Going even further from design intents and doing it by the D-Tap probably will work. However, this particular combination is unknown and the attendant risks make me have to say that this is not covered by warranty and you do so at your own risk.

A: The D150 works great for my (original) Astra Bi-Color. Maybe about 90 minutes of run time at high power.
