Tram Tr50 Omni Lavalier Microphone With Lemo 4-pin Connector For Vega Transmitters (gray)
- Product Code: ga216440
-
The gray Tram TR50 is a miniature omnidirectional lavalier microphone designed to deliver clear speech and dialog with a natural sound that mixes well with boom microphones, making it popular among professional sound recordists working in TV, film, broadcast, videography, and more.
The mic's omnidirectional polar pattern provides a generous 360° pickup response that helps to keep levels consistent, even if the talent turns and isn't speaking directly in the direction of the capsule. The flat, upward facing design allows the mic to be easily concealed while also helping it to resist clothing and rustling noises.
The TR50 features a 40 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response with a gentle 3 to 4 dB boost in the high frequencies for added clarity with minimum sound coloration, especially helpful if the mic is hidden behind clothing or fabric. Well suited to wireless applications, the mic features a 4.5' cable available in a variety of connectors for direct integration with bodypack transmitters. This model features a 4-pin LEMO connector wired for use with select Vega transmitters.
This version of the TR50 is wired with a positive bias which means that, in addition to being powered by your wireless transmitter, it can also be used for wired XLR applications by plugging into the TR79+ power supply (available separately). A tie bar, tie tac, clip-on holder, and tape-down holder are provided to help you mic up your subject. A windscreen, cable holder, and carrying case are also included.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can I connect the recorder to the camera and record to it directly? And is there a headphone port to listen to and check the sound?
A: The F2-BT has a locking 3.5mm stereo output jack with dedicated volume up/down buttons which can be used to connect to a camera, secondary recorder, or used with headphones for monitoring the audio. Keep in mind that the output signal from the recorder is line level and the output connector is a locking type, so a few adapters are required to create a setup with the connections and options you will need to connect the recorder to a camera and also allow you to monitor the audio. If you want to connect the F2-BT to the mic input on a DSLR, you will need to use a level matching cable as well as a cable with a locking 3.5mm connector. You can make this work by using a Senal Right-Angle Locking 1/8" Mini to Right-Angle 1/8" Mini Output Cable (B&H # SEAWSCBLMINI) combined with a Kopul ACH4-25MON Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable (B&H # KOACH425MON) which also provides a headphone tap. Connect the Senal and Kopul cables using a female coupler such as the Hosa Technology GMM303 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini to 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini Adapter (B&H # HOASMFSMF). These adapters will allow you to record with the F2-BT and also send the audio to your camera, as well as provide a headphone jack so you can monitor the sound while recording.
Q: 2. if you had to compare this to rode wireless go in order to record audio to camera etc?
A: This is a fairly sophisticated recorder, that comes with a wired lav mic, and features bluetooth control, and 32-bit float recording. You would get very food recordings in this unit, but would then sync them to your video in post production. The quality would be better than the Rode WIreless Go, but the Rode system is a microphone and the audio signal goes right to your camera, making for less post production work.
Q: 3. I love the idea of being able to plant different units on different actors or in out-of-range places. But it would be vital to be able to trigger them all to record with one click. Is it really true that the app cannot do this? How would I do it?
A: The F2 control app can be used to start and stop recordings (https://apple.co/37BzPci or https://bit.ly/3m0pAGX ). If you have multiple recorders though, I think your best option will be to start them all recording at the same time, with each generating their own time-code. That will make sure you don't miss anything, and will allow you to easily sync and edit everything later.
Q: 4. How can you connect this mic to your computer to use as a computer mic for example for better audio during zoom calls?
A: The F2 can not be used a USB microphone.
Q: 5. Will this take Micro SD-HC like Tascam DR-10L?
A: Yes, the F2-BT can be used with microSD, microSDHC,and microSDXC cards up to 512 GB (Class 4 or higher).
Q: 6. Can we Jam Timecode into the F2 via the mic input?
A: No, the Zoom F2-BT Portable Field Recorder can be synced to external Timecode, but only via Bluetooth. The Atomos UltraSync BLUE Wireless Timecode Sync (B&H # ATOMSYBL01US) is the Timecode device that is recommended by Zoom for use with the F2-BT Recorder.
Q: 7. Can you use this with a wireless mic system?
A: Yes, you can use a wireless mic system instead of the lavalier mic. Just be sure to use a cable that has a locking 3.5mm TRS connector for the input on the F2-BT. if your wireless receiver output cable has a standard non-locking 3.5mm TRS, you can use a female to female coupler adapter like the Hosa Technology GMM303 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini to 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini Adapter (B&H # HOASMFSMF) to connect your receiver's output cable with a second cable such as the Sennheiser CL1 3.5mm to 3.5mm Output Cable (B&H # SECL1) which has a standard non-locking 3.5mm TRS male connector on one side and locking 3.5mm TRS male end on the other side to go to the F2-BT's locking input.
Q: 8. Will it work with the Atomos AtomX Sync module? Atomos owns UltraSync and the Sync module works with my Zoom F8n over bluetooth.
A: Yes, the Atomos AtomX Sync module can be used with the Zoom F2-BT but you will also need to use the Atomos UltraSync BLUE Wireless Timecode Sync for AtomX SYNC and Ninja V (B&H #ATOMXSYBL1US).
Q: 9. Does the F2 record stereo, mono or both?
A: This is a mono recorder
Q: 10. The zoom f2 supplies plug-in power to input. Will this damage a mic like the mke 600 which has it's own battery driven power?
A: The Zoom F2-BT Portable Field Recorder can supply up to 2.5V of plug-in power to condenser mics that require it. Since the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone can be powered by a battery, it will not draw plug-in power from the F2-BT. There will not be problems and no way to damage the mic.
