The gray CUB-01 from Sanken is a boundary microphone that features a small profile while delivering a sound synonymous with large diaphragm microphones. The CUB-01 is an excellent choice for conferences, boardrooms, courtrooms, news broadcasts, film and more. The microphone features a unique square-shaped cardioid capsule, which significantly enlarges the area of the diaphragm. This proprietary design results in a rich, natural, "full-bodied" sound quality that is often associated with large diaphragm condenser microphones.

The CUB-01 is easily installed into any surface with minimal effort and its miniature profile renders the microphone inconspicuous. The wide frequency response effectively reproduces speech, instruments and ambiance. The cardioid polar pattern effectively minimizes off-axis noise and ambiance while providing a focused pick up.

The CUB-01 features a cardioid pick up pattern at the upper-hemisphere of the capsule. The result is excellent noise and phase suppression at the surface while maintaining a generous pick up area at the top.

The miniature design results in inconspicuous, low profile microphone placement.

The square diaphragm results in a larger diaphragm area. The result is a sound quality synonymous with large diaphragm condenser microphones.

The CUB-01 features a standard 3-pin XLR male output and is powered with 48V phantom power.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come in a Anton Bauer Gold mount as well ?

A: Yes, this comes in a gold Mount as well. LanParte ABP-01 Gold-Mount Battery Pinch B&H # LAABP01.

Q: 2. Does this work to charge the battery? The version with the anton bauer mount has reviews saying it won't actually charge the battery, so I'm wondering if the v-mount version has the same issue

A: Yes it does. I've had success in charging V-Lock batteries using the plate.

Q: 3. If I plug in my Powerbase 70 battery (14.8v) to the input can I use the 15v output to power my BMPC 4k?

A: We imagine you mean plugging the Powerbase via the D-tap of the Pinch and then using a cable you have to power the BMPC 4K. This is an unknown combination and therefore, if you proceed you do at your own risk. It probably will work; do test with a multi-tester meter before doing so. Otherwise we do recommend using a V mount battery with this or the appropriate cable with the Powerbase to power your BMPC 4K.

Q: 4. With a smartphone OnePlus one, which is a stabilizer works better?

A: On youtube look up - vocalizeu move if you wanna - to see a sample of the iphone 6s on this hhg-01 Stabilizer

Q: 5. If I wanted to power an Atomos Flame off one of the DC outputs, is that possible and what cable would I need?

A: The Atomos Ninja Flame and Shogun Flame both include a D-Tap cable. You will be able to use that cable with this battery pinch.

Q: 6. Does the handle have the screw to allow use with a camera while attached or do you have to revive it to attach the camera?

A: This thing changes the purpose / functionality of a photographic mono-pod into a walking stick - I do not see a way to attach a camera while the handle adapter is attached, so it's either a camera mono-pod (when the handle is not attached) or it's a walking stick (when the handle is attached, not both at the same time.

Q: 7. Are the power output ports 2.5 mm?

A: The 7.4 v output has inner/outer diameters of 3.5/1.35mm. The other ports are 5.5/2.1mm.

Q: 8. What specification are the HDMI Splitter ports on this device? are they HDMI 1.4a and able to support UHD 4k at 24fps? Also does the splitter introduce any significant image lag?

A: Hi it's HDMI 1.3, so it won't be able to support UHD 4K at 24fps. But it does not introduce lag.

Q: 9. The description says it has a 7.2V output for powering DSLR's but the image shows a 7.4V. Which is it? Can I hook this up safely to a A7sII and is the output regulated? Should I rather use an IndiPRO Tools PTSA7 D-Tap to Sony a7 Dummy Battery but waste a Dtap port?

A: It is a 7.4V jack. It can be used for cameras that use 7.2V or 8.4V (and anything in between).

Q: 10. Do any of those cables suit a Sony PXW-Z280 ? (XDCAM) for 12V DC in ?

A: We are not aware of a cable in this kit, or elsewhere, that will allow you to power the Z280 from this battery pinch at this time.
