The 3 x 3" Graduated Sunset 2 Filter from Tiffen is an exciting filter. It enhances reality, adding a touch of subtlety or drama to the image. When you can't get to the southwest for that awesome sunset, this filter will come in handy. Your friends will think you were on assignment for a travel magazine.

Sometimes it is also desirable to add color to part of the photograph. For example, to add an orange/yellow tint to bump up the effect and punch of the sky. Tiffen Color Graduated filters are half-color, half-clear, with a graduated transition for blending into the scene. Tiffen Graduated Sunset filters are available in grades from 1-3, with 3 having the greatest effect.

The Graduated Sunset 2 filter will provide a multi-layered sunset effect with a red sky blending down into orange and then yellow, with the bottom of the filter clear. The 2 version increases contrast and provides more intensity to the image.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. why is this lens so expensive?

A: If you remember the Azanuma zooms of the 70's, this is way betterbut so was everything else& just rent it first if you are not sure so that you don't end up complaining and explaining that you purchased it and then got charged a restocking fee when you returned it in some insipid equipment review. At the end of the day people are gonna end up with what they can afford, like, and can actually live withirrespective of any reviews.

Q: 2. does this lens focus manually as well as AF? I just got it and when I turn the focus ring I do not see any change in focus.

A: I think the answer to your most recent question is it depends , e.g.,If camera is set to AF-S and you use back button focusing with lock-on when you lift your thumb off the back button, then you can tweak manually. If you use shutter button (half press), and then, keeping it half pressed, tweak manually it may work.If you use AF-C the camera will override any tweak/s.If you set Direct Manual Focus (DMF), it will start as AF-S and then go to manual focus mode where you can tweak the focus -- it will stay in manual focus as long as you are in half press shutter button. DMF is even more helpful if you have set Peaking Level and Color.

Q: 3. Are there any differences between version 1 of this lens vs version 2 other than auto focus response?

A: Version II of this lens features a dust- and splash-resistant design to suit its use in trying weather conditions as well as better coatings. It is also quieter than the first version.

Q: 4. does this lens feature internal focusing and internal zooming? Does it extend during zooming or does it remain the same length?

A: Internal focus and zoom. Little to no focus breathing either.

Q: 5. I have a Sony NEX-6 with the 6-50 OSS lens. I want to get a telephoto zoom and trying to decide which one to get and whether to get an 18-200 or a 55-200?

A: This is one situation where it seems the 18-200mm lens may slightly out-perform the two-lens setup of the 16-50mm and 55-210mm lenses. While image quality does typically prefer the two-lens setup, the 18-200mm lens is well-designed (as indicated by its price), and the main struggles it would have would be with chromatic abberation, and slightly with distortion on the wide-end of the zoom; however, even for the all-in-one lens, it performs better than the 16-50mm lens at 16mm natively. When using the 16-50mm lens and the 55-210mm lens, some of the optical issues can be corrected simply by activating the camera's Distortion Correction feature, which also assists in correcting for vignetting. Basically, if you are on a budget, the two lens setup would be a good option, using the camera's Distortion Correction feature, but if you need a one-lens-does-all solution, then the 18-200mm lens is a good option on the NEX camera platform.

Q: 6. Has anyone every used this lens with extension tubes as a "long macro" ? I wonder how much extension is needed to achieve 1:1 magnification?

A: You can use extension tubes with this lens for close focus you can stack the extension tubes

Q: 7. The new Sony lens SEL70200GM ships with a petal-shaped lens hood ALC-SH145. What is the diameter of this lens hood at its widest point? (This should assist me to prepare room for the lens in the face of the long delay in availability.)

A: 4 1/2 at the widest point.

Q: 8. is this lens made in Japan?

A: Yes.

Q: 9. hey guys, I'm thinking to get a zoom lens to work on my a7iii and I don't know if it's better to go for the 100/400 G or this 70/200 G and the 2x extender. what do you suggest? I'm gonna use it for wild photography

A: 70-200mm is a better choice

Q: 10. Can the L-fn button be used for auto focus, where the L-fn button focuses and the shutter button takes the photo?

A: Yes, you can customize the L-Fn button to AF-ON. So you can focus with the lens L-Fn, and use the shutter to take the shot. This will be in the menu, under ( CUSTOM SETTING MENU ) Controls F
