Q: 1. Does the NanoLockit 2-pack come with any cables to connect to camera?

A: The Ambient Recording ACN-NL-L NanoLockit Miniature Timecode Synchronizer with Logging Feature (2-Pack) (B&H# AMACNNLLD) does not come with timecode synchronization cables. However, please see the ACCESSORIES section of this product webpage to select the option that's appropriate for your device.

Q: 2. Can this be a bidirectional converter like the DECIMATOR MD-LX HDMI/SDI?

A: Hi There, this is Jules from Symbiosis, Decimator's Master Distributor. The MD-Cross v2 can be used as a simultaneous bi-directional SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI converter. It can scale/cross-convert in one of these channels. It can also be configured as a distribution amplifier from HDMI or SDI to 1x HDMI and 4x SDI outputs with or without cross conversion/scaling as well as also being able to overlay graticules, UMD and in-picture audio meters. It can also be used as a test pattern generator. I hope this helps. Jules

Q: 3. Do I need a special cable to connect the NanoLockit Miniature to a Sony FX9 camera?

A: Yes, you will need the Ambient Recording LTC-OUT Lockit Time Code Out to BNC / L5P-BNC(BH #AMLTCOUT) to connect the Ambient Recording NanoLockit Miniature Timecode Synchronizer with Logging Feature to your FX9.

Q: 4. what is test pattern generator ?

A: The test pattern generator is available in the converter and supplies over 100 test signals. There are HD back s, smtpe bars, gray scale, grid and a huge variety of other useful signals. The same gnal is available on either hd-sdi out or HDMI out or both.. The test out is very valuable.Overall this is one of the most valuable adaptors I have ever used . I have three of them, and I use them almost every day. A great purchase and I highly recommend any product from this manufacturer.. I am on a project right now where I am using 2 MX cross and 1 DMON-4S. Excellent.products, totally reliable.. I will buy more.

Q: 5. Can this take 3 sdi inputs and put hdmi 1 as multiview and hdmi 2-4 as crossover?

A: The Decimator MD-Cross V2 only has one 3G-SDI and one HDMI input. For outputs, the MD-Cross V2 has one HDMI, and three 3G-SDI outputs with one of the three being an Active-loop through.

Q: 6. Can this scale a 1080i HD-SDI input to a 720p HD-SDI output?

A: Yes it can. It does cause some quality degradation, but it does well for the price point.

Q: 7. Can this unit convert 1080p 23.98 to 480i?

A: HD 1920x1080p23.98 is a supported input, but 480i is not a supported output. The lowest output signal supported is SD 720x487i59.94

Q: 8. Can it be use with a RED dragon and Sounddevice mixpre3 ?

A: I'm sure you can feed the TC in on the Sound Devices with the cable included with the nano lockit. However, the Red cameras need a proprietary adapter cable to feed TC in through a BNC connector. That means you'd also need the lemo to BNC output cable for the nano lockit. Hope that makes sense!

Q: 9. Can this convert NTSC input to PAL output? Thanks!

A: Yes it can. This will allow you to convert an NTSC Frame Rate to a PAL Frame Rate.

Q: 10. Hello, I’m using (2) Sony FS7 cameras and would like to convert them from 23.98 PSF to 1080i. Would I need 2 units?

A: Yes, two individual DECIMATOR MD-Cross V2 Miniature HDMI/SDI Cross Converters would be required to handle more than one signal at a time. If it was one signal and you split the output, this would only require one.
