  • The compact, low-profile microphone is designed to be surface-mounted on conference tables, stage floors, and lecterns.
  • The sleek, unobtrusive form factor stays out of the way of panelists and presenters, making it a smart solution for video conferencing.
  • The MX391 doesn't offer mute switches, so speakers can't mute themselves—the mic is always ready to capture every moment in a panel discussion or presentation.

  • The condenser microphone is optimized for crisp, clear speech.
  • The mic's supercardioid pickup pattern focuses audio capture tightly on the speaker directly in front on the mic, reducing unwanted noise and feedback.
  • An interchangeable mic capsule design allows you to swap out the supercardioid capsule for a cardioid or omnidirectional capsule for applications requiring a more forgiving pickup pattern (two people sharing a single mic, for example).

  • Included is an inline preamp with a standard 3-pin XLR output ready to plug into a PA system, mixer, or recorder capable of supplying 12 to 48V phantom power needed to power the mic.
  • The preamp offers a high level of RF filtering, making the mic substantially less susceptible to unwanted radio interference.

    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use this with the Rode NTG mic?

A: No, the RODE DeadCat VMPR+ is designed only for the Rode VideoMic Pro Plus. This microphone's abnormal shape means that this windscreen will not fit the form factor of typical shotgun microphones. BH #AUWSWVMNTG or BH #ROWS11 would be recommended for the VideoMic NTG.

    Q: 2. IS THIS TOO HEAVY N UNBALANCED FOR A GIMBAL ?

A: The weight of this is a very small number some where south of 5.6 oz. Whether or not it works depends of course on the gimbals's capacity. However, it is our opinion that it should work fine with most gimbals. If you have further application questions, please email us. provideo@a href= http://bhphoto.com target= _blank bhphoto.com/a

Q: 3. There are a couple different combos for rode mic pro. Which is the one people usually get? I want to use this with my eos r6 so I assume the minimum would be mic and camera mount?

A: Yeah out of the box the Rode shotgun is ready to work with your R6, if you think youll be shooting audio video outdoors then go with the fur windbooster package, if your filminig doing ENG ( Electronic News Gathering ) then go with the boompole package.

Q: 4. Polsen GPMK-22 or Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphonefor the gopro? Which has a richer, warmer sound?

A: I purchased the Polsen GPMK-22 and I'm TOTALLY satisfied with the product. Works great!

Q: 5. is this microphone made only for JVC cameras, it looks lie it would be handy for my canon c100?

A: It is a standard XLR Mic so it will work with any XLR input camera. Better sound than the internal mic on my camera.

Q: 6. Is it the original rode deadcat ?

A: Yes it is made by Rode. This model is made for specific compatibility with the Rode Videomic Pro Plus.

Q: 7. Is there a way to connect this to the Rodecaster Pro? Not as a primary mic, but when you need that extra mic.

A: This can be connected to the Rodecaster Pro, but will require replacing the included cable with any 3.5mm trs to trs cable such as B&H # ROSC2, and an xlr adapter such as B&H # ROVXLR.

Q: 8. What is the rated distance range from the mic to the subject, and how do the VideoMic NTG and VideoMic Pro+ compare in that respect? The NTG seems well-suited for near-range subjects such as an in-office zoom meeting with laptop, but how far away can they capture clear audio? Thanks.

A: In general, most all shotguns have a maximum quality pickup range of 1-3 feet from the audio source. This would apply to both the NTG and VideoMic Pro+. Both are great sounding microphones, with the NTG offering a bit more versatility in terms of usb and smartphone connections.

Q: 9. If I have two subjects in one camera shot? Do I need two shotgun mics?

A: Shotgun mics are highly directional and are meant to reduce side noise. If your subjects are stationary and shoulder to shoulder, then one shotgun would probably be ok to capture general speech. If the subjects are stationary, but further apart, then yes you would need two shotguns. If the subjects are moving around in a shot, then the mic would need to be on a boom pole and following the talent.

Q: 10. What is the diameter of this mic? will it mount on a Canon C300 Mark ii?

A: The Canon mic mount and those available on similar cameras are designed with a wider diameter than most mics in order to accommodate a wide variety of products. Generally a spacer would be required in order to clamp the mic tight. There are rubber O rings available to mount and are recommended.
