Q: 1. Hello - I asked the question about piggybacking a DSLR to the C5. Thanks for your response, but it didn't answer the question. I've done what you state in your answer numerous times with my Nikon DSLRs. Celestron's site says they have a piggyback adapter that works with SCT's from the C5 on. I don't think it includes the 'spotting scope' version. So wondering if this version of the C5 has the female ends for the mounting screws?
A: The proper adapter is the Celestron T-Mount Adapter for Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes BH #CETAC5 • MFR #93633-A
Q: 2. will this lens work with A7R?
A: Yes, the Sony E 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens is fully compatible for use with the Sony Alpha a7R Mirrorless Digital Camera.
Q: 3. What is the fov on the standard 25mm eyepiece for the SE8? What would be the next low magnification to get after this one with a wider fov for deep space viewing?
A: Actually the kit 25mm eyepiece ia a wide angle view. If you wanted to go wider the: Tele Vue Plossl 32mm Eyepiece (1.25") BH #TEEPL32P • MFR #EPL-32.0 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/329378-REG/Tele_Vue_EPL_32_0_Plossl_32mm_Eyepiece_1_25.html Or the:Tele Vue Plossl 40mm Eyepiece (1.25") BH #TEEPL40P • MFR #EPL-40.0 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/329376-REG/Tele_Vue_EPL_40_0_Plossl_40mm_Eyepiece_1_25.html
Q: 4. can i use it for sony a7 3 ?
A: You can use it on the A73 but it is made for smaller apsc sensors, so it will crop the sensor, less than half of the available megapixels will be used and the angle of view will increase by 1.5x.
Q: 5. Can you turn off the lens internal stabilization? With the new A7rII and its own built in stabilization, I would expect the two systems to fight each other unless you could turn one off.. I'm sure you can in the body but would prefer to turn off the lens.
A: The two stabilization systems do not fight each other. They recognize each other and compensates for it. You do not have to turn of the lens stabilization.Hope this helps.
Q: 6. Would anyone use this on the FS5?. We need a zoom that is fast. any suggestions from the staff?
A: the Sony PXW-FS5 XDCAM Super 35 Camera System is equipped with the Sony E-mount lens mount, it would be fully compatible for use with the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens. While the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens is a new lens, it is supposed to be one of Sony's best telephoto zoom lenses with a fast f/2.8 constant maximum aperture, and would be a good recommendation for your needs.
Q: 7. Will this lens work with the A6000?
A: As the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens is designed for use on the Sony E-mount, which is the lens mount used on the Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera, yes, the lens would be compatible for use on the a6000 Digital Camera.
Q: 8. My first version lens makes a sound when I press the shutter button on my GX8, very audible. Some of my other M43 lenses are completely silent. Is the Mark II version silent?
A: Yes, the mark II is very quiet compared to the original version.
Q: 9. Does this lens focus by wire? Or is it a mechanical focus? How is the focusing when you manually focus? (For video -rack focus, tracking, tactile feel)
A: It is focus by wire.
Q: 10. With the lens being so heavy, do you need to handle it from the tripod collar or will the E-Mount handle the weight?
A: like most 70-200/2.8 lenses on any system, I wouldn't recommend using it just on the camera mount. I have found that the e-mount on the a7rii is strong enough to hold it but there is a fair amount of torque and anything in the wrong direction or too quick could put it past it's tolerance. That expensive of gear should be treated with respect I think. I'm just not one to risk it when the collar isn't unwieldy in the first place
