Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I switch papers in my classroom. Is it okay to switch partially used cartridges back and forth between regular and matte or will that mess up the printer?

A: You can switch in and out partially used matte and photo black ink cartridges on the R2880.

Q: 2. Will this cartridge work in the Epson SureColor P600 printer?

A: The Epson T850600 does not work with SureColor P600 printers, only the P800. For the P600 you would need the T760 cartridges. Vivid Light Magenta - B&H # EPT760UCMAG.

Q: 3. What is the page yield for these cartridges and for what size page? I realize page yields are approximate. 80ml sounds good, but for $55 apiece I'd like to know how far that goes.

A: I ran (150) sheets of 8.5 x 11 inch premium glossy paper with full ink coverage and full bleed. The cartridge is showing half full. When running that number of prints, I tend to use light black and vivid light magenta and light cyan at a greater pace, running those inks down to about 25% with each run. Your mileage may vary.

Q: 4. Price looks good, BUT: are these cartridges in individual, dated, Epson factory packages like those purchased directly from Epson. Amazon offers a bargain priced set, except that the cartridges are bubble wrapped together, not in individual packages, making me very suspicious.

A: The Epson 96 UltraChrome K3 9-Cartridge Ink Set is a set of 9 separate Epson boxes that we package together as a discounted price. Normally these inks would cost $116.55 ($12.95 per cartridge) if you bought each one separately. We are selling them together at a discounted price of $109.95.These are Epson brand inks, the same ones that you would buy directly from Epson. They have the expiration dates on the box .Epson does not make a kit with all 9 inks so we created it ourselves. We usually make these kits for all the printers we sell when the manufacturer does not offer their own kits.

Q: 5. Will this work in a Stylus Pro 3880?

A: No, this ink cartridge is only compatible with the P800 printer.

Q: 6. This sounds dumb but I have heard that B&W printing uses some color inks in the mix. What inks should I keep in stock for B&W printing besides the obvious 4 blacks?

A: I would recommend to keep all 9 ink cartridges in stock. Just to be safe. Depending on the printer model, some printers will not print if a cartridge is empty.

Q: 7. I got this to replace the discontinued T8245 cartridge, but my P7000 printer doesnt recognize it. What should I do?Please help.

A: In order to use some of the newer inks in the Epson P7000/P9000 printers, a firmware update is needed. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/3EMP5DN

Q: 8. Can the ink expire in the printer before a replacement is needed?

A: Technically, it is my understanding that you should not used expired inks. However, I have had some inks that had expired and I used them until they ran out. I would not start with expired inks however, it is not the best thing for the printer, clogging etc. The inks have a mind of their own.

Q: 9. Approximately how many 8x10 prints can I get out of these ink cartridges?

A: There is no published spec on this and each print can use a different amount of ink colors. In general, it will use about 1.25 ml of ink per square foot. It uses nine individual ink tanks, each of which holds 80 ml. My estimate would be around 640 8x10's. Also Ink is Used during switching the black inks. Matte to Photo Black Approx 4.6mlPhoto to Matte Black Approx 1.6ml

Q: 10. which black does this pack have? MK or the PK?

A: This item comes with the following Black ink cartridges (EPCLBUCR2880 and EPCBUCR2880). These would be considered the Ultra Chrome K3 line of inks.

One must keep at least one ink cartridge of each ink color on hand when using an ink jet printer, such as my Epson Stylus R3000, so that printing competition quality images will not be interrupted should an ink run-out. Obtaining the required ink is so easy when ordered from B&H. It arrives promptly.

I have been using this ink in my Epson P600 printer for ten years! I couldn't get the results for my BW printing without this combination of printer and inks!

The ink works well and doesn't clog. It was packaged securely and I got it in 3 days. Thank you B&H.
This isn't B&H's issue but I think Epson is way over pricing the ink cartridges. They keep putting fancier names on the cartridges and raising the price. B&H has the same price as buying them from Epson and the delivery is much faster and reliable.

Always purchase from B&H. Cartridges have long expiration dates and my P-600 is consistently happy.

While Epson makes, in my opinion, the best printing systems available, you really shouldn't use third party brands of ink with any Epson printers, it's just too risky.
This particular order arrived late, however, B&H has had what I need when I need it and they did ship the order on time. Package arrived in good shape with proper padding in the box.
