Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the lens extend under its own weight? If yes, is there a lens lock switch, specifically to hold it in 24mm?

A: From what I have seen this lens does not succumb to "Lens Creep" luckily. Most of Nikons high quality Z mount lenses do not have this issue.

Q: 2. Will this lens work with the A6000?

A: As the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens is designed for use on the Sony E-mount, which is the lens mount used on the Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera, yes, the lens would be compatible for use on the a6000 Digital Camera.

Q: 3. I have this mounted on an FS-7, but I can't get it to do a slow creeping zoom. At the slowest speed on the handle zoom it is still too fast - any suggestions without using a separate zoom controller?

A: Yes, that is the slowest it can zoom without getting a separate zoom controller.

Q: 4. does the new bmpcc4k fully support this lens?also what focal length will you get with the lens on the bmpcc4k?

A: Yes, the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has an MFT Mount and will be fully compatible with this lens. That camera has a 1.9x crop factor, it will be the equivalent of a 80.75mm lens.

Q: 5. I'm going to buy a C5 and have a Nikon camera I want to mount to it. I have never heard of the Novagrade adaptor. I'm assuming it doesn't require a T- adaptor as well. Also has anyone tried it and is it better than the adaptor Tring combination?

A: Have a pentax with a t adapter attached to my c5 Have NOT heard about Novagrade,,Contact CELESTRON...The T adapter works fine and is IN expensive

Q: 6. This one (G Master) or that one (Sony G F/2.8 OSS II)... I use Sony A7R II and Sony A99! Sony G is an A-Mount, also E-Mount via adapter, but 500 dollars more... I don't know which has better IQ to grap some of those! Pros and cons

A: The Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS E-mount Lens has not yet been release, as it is a new item that was recently announced, and is not yet stated to begin shipping until July 29, 2016. As such, I have yet to see any lens testing from reputable testers to compare the optical quality of the two lenses. The newer Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS E-mount Lens has 11 aperture blades for a more rounded aperture and bokeh (the A-mount lens used 9 blades), and also has more optical elements designed for more correction from aberration and to focus all light at a single point to increase sharpness, and also has a shorter minimum focus distance. The above are the comparisons from the lens' specifications released by Sony. Comparing the MTF chart, the newer Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS E-mount Lens seems slightly sharper, especially when viewing the corner/edge performance. However, for a comparison in real-world testing, you would have to wait until the lens is released and available for testing.I will add one point; if you are using both A-mount and E-mount cameras, and you only want to have to purchase one lens, then the Sony 70-200mm F2.8 G SSM II would be recommended. While both are good lenses, you may use an adapter to use the A-mount lens on the smaller E-mount, but there is no adapter to use the smaller E-mount lens on the larger A-mount.

Q: 7. Someone said... Sony's G Master 24-70 IQ is better than Zeiss 55 f/. 1.8... My question is: How much IQ will be this 70-200 f/. 2.8...? I can't imagine this powerful lens!

A: This lens will give you excellent image quality and sharpness.

Q: 8. Can you turn off the lens internal stabilization? With the new A7rII and its own built in stabilization, I would expect the two systems to fight each other unless you could turn one off.. I'm sure you can in the body but would prefer to turn off the lens.

A: The two stabilization systems do not fight each other. They recognize each other and compensates for it. You do not have to turn of the lens stabilization.Hope this helps.

Q: 9. is this Lens weather proofed?

A: No, the Sony E PZ 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS lens is not a weather-sealed lens.

Q: 10. What are weight & dimensions?

A: Under the specs tab on our website, that info is listed; Dimensions (ø x L) 3.5 x 4.96" / 89 x 126 mm Weight 28.4 oz / 805 g
