The Dalite 43 x 57" Model C Manual Front Projection Screen is a perfect choice for either a large lecture or seminar hall, or conference/training room. The screen is designed for heavy use and features lubricated steel ball bearings for a smooth operating system. The screen is accessed via a pull cord.

The CSR mechanism was designed to provide a smooth and safe way for the screen to be retracted into its case. This kind of consistent operation ensures a longer life for the screen. Screens with CSR must be fully extended since there are no intermediate stopping positions.

As an option, you can purchase the screen in any one of seven veneer finishes to give it a more professional, finished appearance. If you prefer not to choose a veneer or laminate, the screen will come with a white casing. In addition, you can also purchase floating brackets which allow the screen to be either wall or ceiling mounted but which also give you the freedom to align the system left/right.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this fit the baja b4's?

A: Sarah,The length of the Baja B4 should fit in the reflective mounting position, however, the bulb will be close to the umbrella fabric and thus have a limited spread across the silver surface. As an alternative, I would suggest one of the Deep White Umbrellas and a spill kill reflector as an alternative to the Orb for your Baja.

Q: 2. Does this come with a stand? Also how would I attach my speed light inside this set up?

A: The 43 Orb doesn't come with a stand, B&H does have some bundles that would include a stand but the unit alone doesn't. It would mount to a umbrella style mounting hole. If your intending to use a speedlight you'll need a item like B&H # PH87199 to attach to the top of your stand. You flash would mount to the cold shoe on top of this and the umbrella stand would mount in one of the holes with the tension knob. These brackets would out very nice because it allows you to easily pivot and angle the orb any which way. I use it all the time like this. Hope this helps,Ben

Q: 3. Is the Nikon SB700 flash unit powerful enough to use in this?

A: I asked a similar question directly to westcott. they state to use a light dome and point the flash to the silver part. if you want better recycling times it's worth to mout 2 flashes inside...

Q: 4. Is this light surface bigger than 24 x 24 softbox? I mean, will be a bigger light source?

A: It's 43 in diameter, so the area of surface illumination is almost 3 times the size of the illuminated surface of a 24 x 24 softbox.

Q: 5. Will this work/trigger a speedlight using Nikon CLS? Or do you need radio freq?

A: Yes, I tried it with the pop-up flash on my camera in commander mode and the IR shield (SG-3IR) and it worked surprisingly well. Without the optional grid, it worked from pretty much any angle, with the grid the camera couldn't be behind the orb or at the side. I tried this in a room with artificial light, in daylight the results may be different.

Q: 6. I know you can use a speedlight with the Westcott 43. To use it with the speedlight, you need an adapter of t some type? I you don't need a ring.

A: As the Westcott 43 Apollo Orb Softbox is built on an umbrella frame, you would simply need an umbrella bracket adapter, such as the Impact Umbrella Bracket with Adjustable Shoe, B&H # IMUB, and a standard light stand to use a speedlight flash with the Westcott 43 Apollo Orb.

Q: 7. I own this a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/289146-REG/Avenger_A2033FKIT_A2033FKIT_Century_Stand_Grip.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/289146-REG/Avenger_A2033FKIT_A2033FKIT_Century_Stand_Grip.html/a what do I need to attache the Orb? Avenger E700 Baby or Avenger E650 6.0?

A: This is an umbrella style modifier. You can use any stand with an umbrella bracket. The orb is super portable and its setup is simple.

Q: 8. I actually have 3 questions. First, does this provide even lighting, or are there any hot spots or shadows? My second question is, does this have to be used with a wireless trigger for the flash, or can you use a cord attached to your camera? The third question is, can it be used with this boom:a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/397671-REG/Impact_3045_Mini_Boom_Arm.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/397671-REG/Impact_3045_Mini_Boom_Arm.html/a

A: How even the lighting is will be dependent on the lights you use. I use this with 4 speedlights mounted inside and I feel I get fairly even lighting. How you communicate with the flash is up to you, as long as the sync cable is long enough it will work fine. As far as the boom, I use mine on a very similar sized boom and even with 4 flashes inside it holds up fine. I can't really imagine using this without it mounted to a boom.

Q: 9. Can I safely use this with a 500 Watt, Lowel-V (umbrella mount) Tungsten light and or will it cause a fire if I do?

A: The Orb is rated at 300 Watt maximum for continuous light so I would not suggest its use with any continuous light with higher Wattage like your 500 Watt Lowel-V.

Q: 10. I was wondering what the dimensions of the Orb are when it's folded for transport. Thank you.

A: While Westcott does not indicate the 43 Apollo Orb's closed length, the measurements of the shipping box the Orb is shipped within from Westcott measures 39.0 x 3.2 x 3.2 . As the Orb is inside the shipping box (and is collapsed for shipment), I would state it would be physically slightly smaller than the box measurements, and can be used as an approximation for the unit's collapsed size.
