    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you photograph 70 mm slides with this too?

A: I have only used it for 35mm slides, and it works fantastically. Focusing is not intuitive so be aware you will have to slide the tube out or in to achieve perfect focus.

Q: 2. Has anyone used the Tamron 60MM F2 macro lens with this adapter?

A: No. I used it with a Nikon 60mm lens.

Q: 3. does it include the slide holder?

    A: Yes.

Q: 4. Hello! I had pretty fair results using the ES-1 with my old Micro Nikkor 40mm 2.8 G in DX to copy slides...But now I have a Sony a7c full frame... Is there a way to still use the ES-1? with the Sony a7c? Maybe an FE 50 macro & adapter ring?? Maybe a Nikon G to Sony FE adaptor and use the old DX Nikkor/ES-1? but then I'm back to APS-C? Does anyone have a winning combo for ES-1 to A7c? Or a reasonably priced way to digitize slides?

A: The biggest problem is that you cannot move the ES1 forwards and backwards to account for the minimum focusing distance of different lenses and also to account for changes in angle of view. It requires a ton of DIY with different lenses and close up filters to make it work with different lenses. To digitize slides at a reasonable price I would recommend using a macro lens and placing the slides on a light box such as this one and taking the photo of the slide either hand holding the camera or on a tripod. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1325594-REG/kaiser_202453_slimlite_plano_5000k_battery.html

Q: 5. Will this device scan slides currently housed in Kodak Carousel 140 ?

A: The Braun Reflecta DigitDia Evolution Automatic Stand-Alone Viewer and Scanner for Slides would require you to remove the slides from the Kodak tray and place them in the Braun tray.

    Q: 6. Will this fit a Z 50mm lens?

A: Depends on 50mm lens used. I would suggest using the following for a good shooting experience Nikon 55mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikon lens and PK-13 Extension Tube.

Q: 7. Will it work with a Canon full frame and my ef 100mm macro?

A: Not without a 58mm to 52mm step down adapter ring. And you may need to get an extension tube to get the image to cover the whole sensor. It has a 52mm thread which fits Canon's 50mm macro lens but the 100mm has a 58mm filter thread. It does work really well on Canon's 50mm macro with a 25mm extension tube. I'm getting great results.

Q: 8. Can custom slides be created?

A: No, the Godox Slide Kit for AK-R21 are a proprietary size. And you can not make others for it as of now.

Q: 9. Any third party slides that offer classic tree, window patterns like gobos?

A: Unfortunately, there aren't any third party slides we sell similar to the Godox Slide Kit for AK-R21. You can create your own by taking a photo with a 35mm camera onto slides and then once the slides are developed use them in the Godox AK-R21 Projection Attachment for Flash Heads.

    Q: 10. Can you use this with the 60mm F/2.8 AF-D lens?

A: Yes but you will also need some extension tubes. Google Scanning thousands of slides? Try a digital camera, for full instructions. The results are great.
