The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" 4 Cool Blue Hard-Edge Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a cool, purplish-blue coloration to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a hard-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 4 color density provides less cool blue coloration than the 5 density, but more than the 3 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 4 x 5.65" / 101.6 x 143.5mm.

Note: A horizontal orientation filter's line of transition runs parallel to the long side of the filter.

Q: 1. Why doesn't B&H list the RPM in the SPECS?

A: Did not suit my work flow. Software hard to use.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with a MAC book pro laptop?

A: Yes, it is

Q: 3. This summer I will be traveling and Im looking to use my iPhone 5S or maybe a Go Pro 3 or 4 to record some behind the scene videos of both my travels and me doing photography. Normally I would bring my laptop but due to weight and capacity constraints, I'm looking for another solution to back-up these videos. Would I be able to transfer the videos Note, I will be in the backcountry without cell reception? FYI, I'm keen on this solution as it has an SD Card reader to allow me to back-up my photographs from my DSLR.

A: Yeah as long as you have power going into the hard drive you should be able to back up files from the SD card. It kinda just dumps it into a folder though, so if you're super peculiar about naming convention and formatting, you should use this purely as a backup solution and not wipe your cards.

Q: 4. Is this 5400 or 7200 rpm?

A: This drive spins at 5400 RPM.

Q: 5. Will this store my raw NEF files?

A: Yes you can store anything, just look forward to solid state drives to keep getting bigger and dropping in price because they are much smaller, lighter, and far faster. Also less to go wrong than than normal HD with spinning platter, yet solid state stuff still can go bad, sadly I know from experience. :-(

Q: 6. What is the drive rpm speed?

A: 5400 RPM

Q: 7. Are you able to plug in a SD card reader into the USB 3 port and then directly transfer to another SD card from the SD card slot in the device? Essentially using the device as the interface to back up to another SD card?

A: I have the drive, and don't think this is possible / practical. It is designed to be a storage device that then connects to a computer. I have not tried to write to a SD card, just read from it. The 3.0 port is just for a computer. It is fantastic for this.

Q: 8. Will the usb power adapter work in europe?

A: You likely will need an adapter depending on the country you visit . Buy one universal adapter for your laptop, then charge it via the usb port =D

Q: 9. Is this a solid state drive?

A: No. This is a traditional spinning drive.

Q: 10. Does this version allow for automatic scheduling of backups?

A: Yes. Mine is set for 9:30 each night.
