The Formatt 82mm Supermist Black 2 Filter is a great portrait filter since it diffuses minute details of a photo and reduces the overall contrast. This filter creates milder diffusion than a standard Supermist with one of the benefits being that it does not open up shadow areas as much.

Anyone who shoots portraits should have a diffusion filter in their bag and the Supermist Black gives you the freedom to create the most flattering images.

Formatt, a company with three generations of professional filter-making experience produces every filter to the highest technical standards. The finest materials, together with state of-the-art production technology have resulted in a standard of optical excellence unmatched anywhere else.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which are the brand, series and references of the 2x Barlow Lens and the eyepieces contianed in the Observation Accesory kit for the Nexstar 8SE and the Nexstar 6SE?

A: The eyepieces are Celestron branded Plossl designs. The Barlow and the filters have no series designation.

Q: 2. How well does the wedge option work? I would like to occasionally take long video clips to stack into one image. I'd get an EQ mount but it seems like a hassle.

A: Very well. Adding a Wedge for the NexStar 6/8SE #93665, will allow the mount to track equatorially, thereby eliminating field rotation for long exposure astrophotography. This wedge was tailored for the NexStar SE's size and styling and provides a stable platform.

Q: 3. I have just taken delivery of this telescope. The 'Celestron' logo on the side of the fork mount arm (above the WIFI symbol indicator) does not light up under any circumstances. (The WIFI connection symbol light and tray accessory light work fine. ) On the regular 'Evolution' models (IE not this limited edition model) this 'Celestron' logo serves as a battery indicator light and power light. It pulses when the battery is charging and it is illuminated when the mount power is switched on. The regular 'Evolution' user manual refers to this light as the 'Celestron Power Logo'. To be clear - I am not talking about the WIFI symbol light, which is working fine. So my question is - does this Limited Edition model actually have a working 'Celestron Power Logo' light? The design of the Celestron logo on the fork arm on this limited Edition model is different from the regular Evolution models and I am wondering if it is actually meant to light up on my model?? Otherwise, how am I meant to be able to see if the battery is charging, etc??? (See "Appendix C: L.E.D. Status" of the regular Evolution manual where it confirms about the Power Logo lighting up during charging, etc) So, right now, I don't know if my Celestron Power Logo light is broken or if this precise model does not have one?? Please only respond if you are SURE of the answer to this question. I don't mean to sound rude, I just want to know if I have a defective mount or not :) I dont have a smart phone to check battery status, so it's very important for me to have a working battery status light. Celestron agree with me, because they designed the regular Evolution model with this light ;) Thanks for any help you can give me in solving this mystery.

A: Your mount is not defective. The plastic in the fork arm in front of the Power Logo is opaque on the Limited 60th Anniversary NexStar Evolution 8 #12098, so the battery light is not visible. Customers will need to download the SkyPortal App to see what the battery level on the mount is and verify that the battery is charging. We apologize for the confusion and will be making an official statement regarding this for our website shortly.

Q: 4. With the multiplier on the A6500 what does the mm become roughly? I am trying to avoid a teleconverter if possible to retain the 2.8. Thanks!

A: The Sony crop sensors are a 1.5 multiplier. The 70-200 f/2.8 would have the equivalent of 105-300 on the a6300/a6500.

Q: 5. Specs say "Minimum Focus Distance 3.15' / 96 cm". Is this at 70mm or 200mm or both?

A: Both. And everywhere in between.

Q: 6. Does the lens hood store on the lens or is it a rectangular shaped hood?

A: Yes you can stored it but not in reverse because the hood is rectangular.

Q: 7. Can this lens be handheld? Can it be used with Sony a7II?

A: Hi Deanna, yes, this lens can be handheld and can be used with the A7II. Thanks, -Mark

Q: 8. Can this lens be mounted on Olympus Pen Lite cameras? Specifically the E-PL6 model.

A: Yes buddy, you can. Actually you can mount this lens on any micro 4/3 compatible mount, particularly Panasonic and Olympus cameras, but not only those.

Q: 9. Hi - can I ask if this lens would work well with the Sony 1.4x or 2x converters and is so how much extra length would I get using this on a Sony 6300?many thanks.

A: We could also include that minimum aperture is also impacted by the converter. With the 1.4x it will be 105-300 f/4, and with the 2.0x it will be 210-600 f/5.6

Q: 10. Can I use the Celestron C5 with Ultima Pan Tilt Head Tripod? If it's not the case, which is the recommended tripod ?

A: The Celestron C5 127mm f/10 50x Spotting Scope (OTA Only) is compatible with any tripod with a standard mounting screw that can support at least 11 lbs.
