Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this bracket to mount 1 microphone and 1 camcorder on a tripod such that the camcorder points straight ahead and the microphone points 30 degree away from the direction of the camcorder ?

A: Yes, provided your mount for the microphone is such that you can adjust the mic position in any direction you want.

Q: 2. What is the difference between MK1 and MK2 ?

A: The major difference is that the MK2 has Bluetooth 5.0 for more reliable monitoring and easier setup via phone or tablet. The battery life was also improved compared to the original. Aside from that it's identical to the old one.

Q: 3. Can someone please tell me how this bracket gives you THREE ADDITIONAL shoe mounts?

A: In the center you have another shoe mount and one on each side. Three in total. I use the highest one for the light because it has the longest cable, on the other side I put the zoom recorder and the center for mic directly to the camera because it has the short cable.

Q: 4. Will this fit a Sony HVR-HD 100ON?

A: If you mean the Sony HVR-HD1000U Digital High Definition HDV Camcorder, yes this will go into the top mounted cold shoe. If this is not the correct camcorder, please email us at provideo@bhphoto.com.

Q: 5. I want identical time code on four Pocket Cinema Camera 4K units. How many of these units do I need? Do I need anything else?

A: You will need four Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Single Set) acting as clocks for each Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The 3.5mm Mini Jack Cable (Right-Angle) included with the timecode generator can connect to the 3.5mm ports on the cameras.

Q: 6. How tall is this bracket?

A: This bracket is 6.5 x 5.5".

Q: 7. From time to time I'd like to have a pan arm mounted on my Manfrotto 393 heavy lens gimbal. Could I use this accessory clamp to adapt a Manfrotto 500HLV pan bar or their MVAPANBARM handle? Would the tightening knob's bolt length, metric threading and toothed adjustment pitch be compatible? I'd like to stay with an all-Manfrotto set-up.

A: This will work with any pan bar between .75 to .98" in diameter.

Q: 8. Does this affect the audio I get through the MI shoe on a Sony A7SIII using the ECM-W2BT?

A: The Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 would use one channel of audio to record timecode info. Audio timecode is recorded on the left channel, while the scratch audio of the Sync E is recorded on the right channel. A solution like the Tentacle Sync E would be used for an external audio recorder, and you would not be recording audio in camera. The A7SIII has four audio channels to work with, so you should still be able to use your Hot Shoe mic. SONY A7SIII Audio channels: https://bit.ly/4984FH7

Q: 9. Is this replacing the Tentacle Sync E?

A: It is their Mark 2 Edition, so it will eventually stand as its replacement.

Q: 10. What is the "locking pin on the bottom to prevent rotation"? I get that it has "knurled locking knob to tighten it", but pin?

A: On the Vello CB-4850 V-Bar Triple Shoe Bracket (6.5" Wide) there is a 1/4 20" receiver on the bottom, no locking pin.
