The Tiffen 2 x 3" Fog 3 Filter simulates the effects of natural fog or mist by creating a soft glow around highlights and lowering the overall contrast of the scene. There can also be a softening effect due to how the light interacts with the subject matter. The 3 density provides a greater amount of fog effect than the 2, but less than the 4, and requires no exposure compensation.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 2 x 3" / 50.8 x 76.2mm.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello - I asked the question about piggybacking a DSLR to the C5. Thanks for your response, but it didn't answer the question. I've done what you state in your answer numerous times with my Nikon DSLRs. Celestron's site says they have a piggyback adapter that works with SCT's from the C5 on. I don't think it includes the 'spotting scope' version. So wondering if this version of the C5 has the female ends for the mounting screws?

A: The proper adapter is the Celestron T-Mount Adapter for Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes BH #CETAC5 • MFR #93633-A

Q: 2. What's the weight of this lens?

A: The Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Len weighs in at 3.3 lb./1480g.

Q: 3. What is the package shipping weight and dimensions?

A: Unfortunately we are unable to provide the Shipping Dimensions, and Weight. My apologies. The dimensions of the scope packaged in the manufacturer's box is 43 X 28 X 15 (LXWXH).

Q: 4. How well does this lens work in low light?

A: This isn't an exceptionally wide aperture, so if low-light performance is your top priority, I'd recommend looking at the 70-200 f2.8, or changing your body to an A7s. However, I've been shooting with this as my everyday lens on my A7ii for over a year and I'm very satisfied with the performance in all conditions. I recently tested it against a G-master lens and was surprised that the difference in the image quality was extremely marginal.

Q: 5. My first version lens makes a sound when I press the shutter button on my GX8, very audible. Some of my other M43 lenses are completely silent. Is the Mark II version silent?

A: Yes, the mark II is very quiet compared to the original version.

Q: 6. I am looking for the nodal points of 4-5 focal lengths covered by this zoom lens before I buy it. Can B&H or Sony help me?

A: I'm sorry but that info would be determined by using the lens on a rail, we do have a 30 day return policy.

Q: 7. Hi - can I ask if this lens would work well with the Sony 1.4x or 2x converters and is so how much extra length would I get using this on a Sony 6300?many thanks.

A: We could also include that minimum aperture is also impacted by the converter. With the 1.4x it will be 105-300 f/4, and with the 2.0x it will be 210-600 f/5.6

Q: 8. The description says the lens is quiet, but is the focusing quiet enough to use a hot shoe-mounted mic when shooting video? How's it compare to the AF-S in focusing noise?

A: The lens is very quiet and a hotshoe mic will not pick up any lens noise.

Q: 9. May I use this lens,Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM Lens, with a Sony FS5? thanks, in advance ...

A: Hello Jeremy, yes this lens is an E mount lens and will be compatible with your FS5.

Q: 10. I'm asking this since there is not tripod mount for this lens. Just wondering if anybody is using this with the a7 (not a7ii) and a tripod. Does the a7 feel solid enough to support this lens?

A: Yes I use it with the A7R on a tripod and I do not have a problem with the weight. Nevertheless it is not a sharp lens, it is actually very bad for its price. Images shot with a longer focal length than 120mm are soft. At 240mm is extremely soft. And since there is no way to make a microadjustment on the camera (it should not need it because it is a mirrorless), I have not found a way to fix this. I will try to sell it and buy something else. I am very disappointed at the poor quality of this lens. If you want to see a comparison between a 70-200mm Canon lens and this 24-240mm lens let me know.
