A: Well, since the lens this accessory is designed to work with is the 55mm f2.8 macro, which has a 52mm filter size, the accessory should thread directly to the lens. However that 18-55 lens is not a macro lens, and you would therefore probably have to use extension tubes behind the lens (what size/depth I don't know) to get anything close to the 1:1 (or perhaps 1:2 on APS-C) magnification ratio needed for slide reproduction.

Q: 5. Finally got my ES-1 to use with my 55micro 3.5 and M2 extension (27.5mm same as a PK 13) , but it looks like I need maybe another 5 or 6 mm to get the slide in focus. I thought the ES-1 was made to work with this combination. Any one have any ideas why it's not working?

A: I was able to make it work with a 7D and the 18-55 kit lens, extension tubes and a filter ring adapter. Adjusting the zoom until I got full frame. I agree with comments below, use manual focus. I used a remote controlled flash about 5 feet away for illumination

A: This is made for Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor witch has 52mm filter thread and Tamron is 55mm, so you will need step up ring , but the 60mm will crop the slide abbot 10% that's the reason it will not work for me

A: I have this setup (albeit a 7100) and it works perfectly. However, if you are planning to duplicate more than a few slides, it can prove very tedious, as you may need to adjust and refocus for each slide.

A: I bought my Nikon ES-1 with an adapter ring to use with a newly purchased Canon EF-S 2.8 Macro that already has a 1:1 ratio. So I'm afraid I can't help you with your Nikon setup. I hope you'll find your answer from another customer, because the slides I've started to copy seem to be coming out very well (except for that small black margin at the edges mentioned by others).
