Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I’m using the lights for video, can I fully power the lights on and off with the transmitter?

A: No, just control of dimming.

Q: 2. Is the battery mount compatible with the SmallRig V Mount Battery VB99?

A: Yes the SmallRig V Mount Battery VB99 attaches to the Rotolight AEOS via the V mount on the light.

Q: 3. Will multiple Aeos lights sync with one trigger?

A: But you said above that the Aeos already has a built-in receiver (Elinchrom Sky port?), so if you have the Elinchrom trigger on the camera (for either Canon,Nikon, or Sony), then it will HSS (trigger) multiple Aeos or Neo2 Rotolights, correct?

Q: 4. I already have an Elinchrom Skyport transmitter plus for Nikon. Will this work with that?

A: Yes it will work

Q: 5. Is there anybody here that use this light mainly for video? I need to know how good of a light this is for video before I buy it. Please help.

A: This light would be suitable for most video application, but whether it can work for you depends on how much of the scene will be lit.

Q: 6. Hello do i need to buy a battery and charger to be able to use the rotolight aros

A: The light comes with an AC power supply, the battery and charger are not provided.

Q: 7. Can the lights charge the batteries when plugged into AC power?

A: No, the Rotolight AEOS does not charge the batteries when plugged into a wall outlet. You need a separate battery charger.

Q: 8. Does anybody know how the power rating is compared to many of the portable batt. strobes in W/S?

A: 300ws equivalent - But consider you do not have to use a modifier to soften the light as you would with a normal strobe so your able to use the full output.

Q: 9. What would be the maximum shutter speed when shooting in Hypersync with Sony and Canon ?

A: It would depend on the maximum mechanical shutter speed of your camera. While the Rotolight does not use HyperSync technology (which is only used by PocketWizard's FlexTT5/FlexTT6 and MiniTT1 radio remotes), it is compatible with High Speed Sync (HSS) when using a camera and radio transmitter/receiver that is also High Speed Sync-compatible. Rotolight lists on page 10 of the Rotolight AEOS instruction manual that they recommend HSS triggers such as the Cactus VI II, the PocketWizard FlexTT5 and FlexTT6, both which have models compatible with Canon cameras, and the Phottix ODIN II, which has models compatible for both Canon and Sony cameras. With these radio triggers and their compatible receivers/transceivers, you would be able to shoot to the camera's maximum mechanical shutter speed, which on most higher-end cameras is 1/8000th of a second.

Q: 10. Can the SWIT 98WH battery works well with Rotolight AEOS without compromising any of the functionalities?

A: Yes it will
