The black GP65NB60 Portable USB External DVD Burner and Drive from LG allows you to read and write on DVDs and CDs with your computer. This drive connects to your Windows or Mac computer via USB. It features 8x DVD and 24x CD read and write speeds. To offer a better movie experience while watching a DVD, this drive provides Silent Play technology, which automatically adjusts the read speed to reduce its noise level. In addition, this drive supports TV connectivity with optional hardware. It also has Jamless Play so you can watch videos continuously by skipping over erroneous data or damaged areas of the disc that may stop your video. Furthermore, this drive can use M-Discs (DVD+R SL only), which provides data protection by using a patented rock-like recording surface instead of organic dye to etch your data onto a disc. Along with the drive are software programs that include Power2Go, PowerBackup, YouCam, LabelPrint, and Norton Internet Security (60 days).

A: When you first install it will ask what region you want to play. If I recall you have 5 opportunities to choose but once you do the region is locked in.

A: I used it to load software onto my MAC desktop. Don't remember if I've ever used it for any Google Chrome application.

A: Probably not. I bought an adapter cable to convert the 30 pin charging and I/O port on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to a USB host port. The adapter worked fine with an SD card reader but the LG player failed to connect due to excessive power requirements. I then inserted a powered USB hub which allowed the player to enumerate but the Galaxy did not know about the player and disconnected.My recommendation is to transfer the DVD files to an SD card then play the content from the SD card. My Galaxy does not have DVD file playback software but I assume it is readily available.

A: This drive should be compatible with no drivers needed. Depending on your Mac, an adapter may be required to connect with Macs that have the Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C ports.

The instructions were a little vague initially, but after a couple of attempts, I got Win10 to recognize the drive and sound activiated. I am pleased with it now. I've been using it from past 2 years and no issues till date. Add-on feature apart from DVD writer is that, it can be used to play DVD/CD on USB port of any tv. You just need press n hold power button for 3 seconds. Doing so will turn DVD into fat32 format and plays the contents on any TV having usb port. I played DVDs in same way on my android phone as well using otg adaptor. This feature is not available on any other brands of dvd writers. Only con is that it's like delicate. This drive has an easy setup. Just plug it and windows usually does the rest in a matter of a couple of minutes. Burns discs rather quickly, so far I have not gotten any disc errors using it. 5

Called LG customer support who assisted me in finding the right software. After a couple of tries, the right one was installed. The drive has been working flawlessly since. Played many DVDs and burned a couple CDs. The LG agent was awesome...patient, well-informed and supportive. Answered all my questions and resolved all issues. 5
