The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is black and features a Switchcraft TA4-Female connector for Toa transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included 1mm Diameter Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this Polsen GPMK-22 GoPro Production Microphone Kit compatible with the Hero 4 Black?

A: Yes, I use these microphones with a Hero 4 Black. They should work with any Hero 4 or Hero 3 series camera, not sure about the Hero 5. The Hero 5 session has a USB-C connector, so it won't work with those cameras.

Q: 2. I'm gonna use mic to record typing keyboard sound do you thing this or VideoMic Pro Plus works better?

A: The above would depend on the type of keyboard that is being used (the keys of some keyboards are louder than others), as well as the position of the microphone (the distance of the microphone to the keyboard/typist) and the input gain/volume setting of your microphone or camera. Both microphones should work fine for your stated usage needs as long as the microphone is close enough to the keyboard and the gain volume is set correctly. This should be easily managed if your camera or recorder has volume levels or allows you to monitor the sounds recorded by the microphone. Both options listed above a re good microphones and should work for your needs,

Q: 3. Does anyone know if this mic compatible with Gopro Hero 8 Black 3.5 mic adapter?

A: Yes, the Rode VideoMic NTG is compatible for use with the GoPro 3.5mm mic adapter and Hero 8.

Q: 4. Could you mount VideoMic NTG to Manfrotto PIXI Mini tripod without adapter?

A: No. The tripod is a 1/4-20 thread and the mic will have a 3/8 thread. An adapter is needed .

Q: 5. How weather resistant is this mic?

A: It is not designed for wet conditions; it is not water-proof or water-resistant. There are not any temperature specifications listed on the RODE website. Recommend using in non-freezing conditions.

Q: 6. What size is the screw mount on the bottom? Thank you!

A: Mounting 3/8"-16 Female (for boompole use)

Q: 7. How long is the cable?

A: It is about 12 inchess long, though I do not have a ruler at the moment. I love this mike!

Q: 8. Is this compatible with Sony PXW-X70 and how is the microphone quality?

A: I do not know if it compatible with the Sony PXW-X70, as O ordered it for my JVC GY-HM170UA 4K Camcorder. However, it appears to be a basically good shotgun microphone for my video camera, as I have used it do man-on-the-street type interviews, and it seemed to pick up the audio pretty well--even when there is a lot of noise around me. I would at least prefer this over the built-in mic on the camcorder, as those tend to sound tinny and shallow. Yes, I would say that the quality is good.

Q: 9. Will this mount to the RODE PSA1 Studio ARM?

A: It will munt using this adapter https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1325276-REG/auray_ad_5838_b_mic_stand_adapter.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 10. I just update the firmware and the power button led turn purple and I can’t turn off or on. Any Idea why?

A: Please make sure the mic's battery is charged. If you are still having problems with powering the mic, please contact technical support at Rode. You can reach them by phone at (562) 364-7400. Their US offices are located in Long Beach, California
