The Tram TR50 is a professional omnidirectional electret condenser lavalier microphone with a low-profile design resulting in low visibility. The TR50 features a frequency response that enhances the character and frequencies associated with speech.

The polar pattern provides a generous pick up response at the direct and off-axis sections of the microphone capsule. This enhances sensitivity and minimizes noise associated with movement, wind and clothing contact. The TR50 features minimum sound coloration and is available in a variety of connectors for direct integration with wireless transmitters. This version features the 6-pin connection for use with Audio Limited wireless transmitters.

Q: 1. For the purposes of an external screen share, my Macbook has HDCP issues (black/flickering screen) that prevents me from plugging a USB-C to HDMI cable directly into my HDMI matrix. Currently, I am able to work around this issue by using a dedicated HDMI switch as an intermediary device. Could I use this instead in between my HDMI Matrix and macbook to convert the signal from hdmi to hdmi? Upstream from the HDMI martix is an Atem Mini Pro so I'm assuming that this Blackmagic device has a compatible video output. Thanks in advance!

A: Unfortunately, the Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G will not solve your problem.

Q: 2. Can i send different signals to sdi and hdmi in, and have those two signals out, simultaneously?

A: No, the Blackmagic Design Micro Converter Bidirectional SDI/HDMI 3G (with Power Supply) does not support the intake of two sperate video feeds. It can only support one feed at a time, but it can output that feed via both outputs.

Q: 3. can this apply a LUT to the sdi in/out? not interested in going to hdmi. i just want sdi in/out to apply a lut.

A: No, the Blackmagic Design Micro Converter Bidirectional SDI/HDMI 3G cannot apply a LUT.

Q: 4. Can I use a normal phone power bank to power it?

A: Yes. Most any USB charger will work.

Q: 5. HDR metadata passthrough. Will this unit retain the HDR flag in the HDMI stream? I have a Decklink 4K Pro currently in my PC (SDI out). If my Resolve project is set up properly for HDR monitoring, will that HDR metadata make it's way from the PC to the TV? Decklink 4K Pro card SDI Micro Converter 12G HDMI 2.0 HDR TV (HDMI input).

A: The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 12G (B&H# BLMCSDIHD12G) will convert the SDI video signal to HDMI (as well as pass-through the SDI) but does not translate HDR data to the HDMI 2.0 output.

Q: 6. How long of an SDI cable run can I expect? Trying to do a multi-camera baseball game and have to cover some long distances. Wireless transmitters are out of my budget and I already have the cables.

A: SDI cables can run up to 196 feet before experiencing noticeable signal drops. You can use SDI repeaters or distribution amplifiers to increase the range of your SDI run.

Q: 7. Will the 12G version convert a 12G SDI signal to 3G SDI signal?

A: No, the Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 12G with Power Supply does not support signal format conversion when looping the output, meaning SDI in to SDI out or HDMI in to HDMI out will not support resolution conversion.

Q: 8. Can some of you please confirm that THIS UNIT will allow me to connect a BMD Studio 4K (SDI) to an ATEM Mini (HDMI) ... with CAMERA CONTROL (CCU)? Thank you!

A: As long as the firmware is updated, it will work.

Q: 9. Has anyone tried using this to convert the signal from a Red Komodo to DJI's Eagle Eye wireless transmitter on the Ronin S2?

A: While in theory this would work fine to turn an SDI signal out of the Red Komodo in to HDMI we are not aware of any specific tests on it or how it could be rigged up to the Ronin RS-2.

Q: 10. Is this compatible and will work for a Panansonic UX180?

A: Yes.

My husband has been looking for a microphone to start a podcast, and after some research I decided on the Snowball. The clarity, size, and performance has been outstanding.
