The Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" 1/4 Coral Soft-Edge Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a warm, pale orange coloration to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 1/4 color density provides less coral coloration than the 1/2 density, but more than the 1/8 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6mm.

Provides a natural-looking warming effect to select areas of the image.

Graduated filter design keeps a portion of the image neutral, resulting in a more realistic look while allowing for the sky or other bright areas to take on the color of the density.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the lens extend under its own weight? If yes, is there a lens lock switch, specifically to hold it in 24mm?

A: From what I have seen this lens does not succumb to "Lens Creep" luckily. Most of Nikons high quality Z mount lenses do not have this issue.

Q: 2. Campared to the Sony Sony FE 70-200mm f4.0 are the extra stops worth the $1,100 price for model and landscape photography?

A: It depends if you like to shoot wide open or not. Personally, I do and it was worth the extra investment when I was with Canon and its worth it now with Sony. I had the 4.0 version with Canon and ended up selling it and buying the 2.8 afterward. It makes a huge difference when shooting individual portraits. love this lens!

Q: 3. Will this soft cap fit over the hood when attached to the lens?

A: Yes this cap can fit the hood.

Q: 4. With the lens being so heavy, do you need to handle it from the tripod collar or will the E-Mount handle the weight?

A: like most 70-200/2.8 lenses on any system, I wouldn't recommend using it just on the camera mount. I have found that the e-mount on the a7rii is strong enough to hold it but there is a fair amount of torque and anything in the wrong direction or too quick could put it past it's tolerance. That expensive of gear should be treated with respect I think. I'm just not one to risk it when the collar isn't unwieldy in the first place

Q: 5. How is the weight on the camera body, is a tripod mounted needed on the lens?

A: The lens weighs as much or more than the body. Most of my shots are hand held. My arms are firm against my rib cage and I exhale slowly while I take the shot. There is a slight recoil but the stabilizer works well. I would like the images to be sharper and more crisp. The polarizer seems to make the colors brighter and a little crisper.I have a Sony G 90mm with macro. It does to work for me and I am planning to sell it back to B&H. The 24 to 240 works well for me and travels with me everywhere. I use a tripod for some nature shots or low light situations. In Cathedrals, I use HDR to shot interior shots and rarely use a tripod (not allowed in most places with lots of people).Have fun and enjoy Japan. Q: 6. Will this fit the Brilia BB-110N?

A: Yes you would be able to us this on a Brilia BB-110n.

Q: 7. How would images taken with this lens and a 2x teleconverter compare with images taken from a 100-400mm Sony G lens?

A: Both options would provide excellent image quality. However, having the FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens with the FE 2X Teleconverter allows you to shorten the range as needed by removing the teleconverter. With the FE 100-400mm lens, you’re stuck within a longer range unless you back up.

Q: 8. is there a hard case with belt loops to fit just the 24-120 f4.0 lens?

A: The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR Lens fits in the Ruggard Lens Case 4.75 x 4.5" (Black), and the case has belt loops.

Q: 9. Is this a new or refurbished lens? The listing says one year warranty but the answer to one of the questions says 90 days.

A: This is a brand new lens that comes with the following Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Lens LC-82B Front Lens Cap Nikon LF-N1 Rear Lens Cap HB-87 Lens Hood CL-C2 Lens Case Limited 1-Year Warranty

Q: 10. what is the diameter of the lens portion of the case? Is there a maximum diameter for a lens inserted in the sleeve? I want to make sure it will fit the lens hood of my Tokina 11-16 mm lens.

A: Diameter is approximately 9cm when relaxed.. The material is flexible and stretches easily, so you could put a larger diameter lens without a problem.
