The Tiffen 125mm Coarse Thread Low Contrast 4 Filter can be applied to purposely reduce contrast while photographing an image or while recording video. By redistributing illumination from brighter to darker areas within a scene, this filter is useful in helping to balance the tonal range among highlights and shadows. Detail is increased within shadow regions while a halation effect around highlights is created which can further enhance a scene's appearance or produce a desired effect.

This filter has a grade of 4. Grades of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 3, and 5 are also available where this filter type's effect becomes approximately twice as strong with each grade number increase.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How would images taken with this lens and a 2x teleconverter compare with images taken from a 100-400mm Sony G lens?

A: Both options would provide excellent image quality. However, having the FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens with the FE 2X Teleconverter allows you to shorten the range as needed by removing the teleconverter. With the FE 100-400mm lens, you’re stuck within a longer range unless you back up.

Q: 2. hi im planning fitting this to my a6500 can you please give zoom values with & without the converter?.thanks, Terry

A: It says 1.4x....multiply 70 by 1.4. Now multiply 200 by 1.4. These two number make the larger range. Keep in mind with the teleconverer you get a worse f stop. It becomes a F4 stop

Q: 3. will this lens work with A7R?

A: Yes, the Sony E 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens is fully compatible for use with the Sony Alpha a7R Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 4. Is there a arca-swiss replacement foot available for this lens? If so, what company is offering it?

A: I'm sorry, there is not a foot available for this lens.

Q: 5. Can this telescope clearly focus upon terrestrial objects?

A: Yes the NexStar 8se can be used on land using this Celestron 45-Degree Erect Diagonal: https://bhpho.to/3TZMQTN

Q: 6. If you Shake this lens very gently, would you feel there are something move in the lens? Or if you push the front part in the radial direction, would it move little bit and feel there is a little gap?

A: those issues are normal for this lens and others. It is the internal mechanism and is nothing to worry about.

Q: 7. Does the lens extend under its own weight? If yes, is there a lens lock switch, specifically to hold it in 24mm?

A: From what I have seen this lens does not succumb to "Lens Creep" luckily. Most of Nikons high quality Z mount lenses do not have this issue.

Q: 8. Is this OTA compatible with this equatorial mount? I want to buy the SE8 and upgrade it with this mount to improve stability https://www.bhphotovideo.com/spanish/c/product/917599-REG/celestron_91519_advanced_vx_computerized_mount.html

A: Yes, the NexStar 8SE optical tube features a narrow dovetail bar which can be mounted on an Advanced VX mount.

Q: 9. Is this a new or refurbished lens? The listing says one year warranty but the answer to one of the questions says 90 days.

A: This is a brand new lens that comes with the following Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Lens LC-82B Front Lens Cap Nikon LF-N1 Rear Lens Cap HB-87 Lens Hood CL-C2 Lens Case Limited 1-Year Warranty

Q: 10. Do these have any sort of weather sealing?
