This 2-stop, 105mm Formatt HD ND Glass Filter, made with Schott-Desag B270 crown optical glass, has several uses and offers the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. They enable the shooter to adjust exposure without affecting color balance. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film.

Determining which neutral density filter yields ideal results for any given lighting situation takes knowledge, experience and a collection of such filters.

Formatt's Neutral Density Filters are a response to the many DPs and cinematographers who find that it is important to shoot as wide open as possible to minimize depth of field - especially with HD

In response to the professional demand for an optically correct and pristine neutral density filter for HD, Formatt designed its HD Neutral Density Filters, which are the ultimate solution to enhance color contrast and are ideal for normal light reduction

Available in all the popular round screw-in sizes and all the standard square sizes

All Formatt filters are finished with a unique edge frame offering maximum protection against chipping, surface scratches and enables easy handling and cleaning

With the filter description on top of the frame it also makes identification of the filter much easier especially when filters are stored in cases on location

Formatt HD Neutral Density filters have the same densities and light stops as the Kodak Wratten Standards

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where can I find the shipping fee? Do you ship to Hong Kong?

A: You may calculate your actual shipping options/order totals by adding the items you want to a shopping cart. It will then list the shipping options, descriptions, ETA's and fees to your location.

Q: 2. Will this lens work on a IR converted camera without hot spots?

A: While this lens can potentially work on a Sony E mount camera that has been IR converted, it has not been tested as such. Your results may vary.

Q: 3. In manual focus mode and with taking pics at night how do you know when you have reached infinity with the focus ring, it just keeps going around?

A: Unfortunately, there are no indicators on Pentax cameras when you have reached infinity (tested with K70, K3 Mk III, and K1 Mk II). The lens' focus ring does produce a minimal "bump" as feedback when you are at infinity, although it might be a little hard to notice if you're not paying attention.

Q: 4. Would this lens fit on a Panasonic GH5 if I were to get an adapter for it? If so what kind of adapter would I need for it to fit on the GH5?

A: I am not aware of any Sony lens compatible adapter for a Panasonic GH5 but I use a Metabones adapter to attach my Canon lenses to my Sony a6600.

Q: 5. Compatible with my A5100?

A: Yes. It's an E-mount lens that is compatible with the a5100.

Q: 6. I'd like to recreate a cinema zoom. Is this lens parfocal or varifocal? And if so will the subject remain in focus while zooming without the use of autofocus? I'm not looking to use autofocus during a zoom.

A: It is parfocal - which does make it nicer on that level than the Sony e-mount kit lenses that shipped with the FS100/700's. So - I thought this lens was going to be a really nice addition to our video camera packages (motorized zoom, parfocal). But..... It's designed for still photography and doesn't translate perfectly to video production. I can't quite put my finger on it - but the image is softer, detail and color seem off and it does aberrate pretty badly at the widest settings (which is very, very noticeable on pans and tilts). So when you say cinema zoom - beware. I don't think you're going to get that level of image quality out of it. But, it's a $600 lens - so you're getting what you pay for. I have no regrets on buying it - but ours has been relegated to our live event kit as a wide lens that needs some motorized zooms.

Q: 7. Does it come with a top and bottom lens cap?

A: Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens BH #SO181054 comes with a front and a rear lens caps.

Q: 8. Will this lens work for a FF Film Pentax Camera MZ-S, With AF, Last Film Camera 2001, Pentax LX previous Model ?

A: This 28-105mm lens from Pentax is designed for the Full frame K-mount system. So this lens would work on any camera that uses K-Mount.

Q: 9. Does this lens have internal focus, or does the barrel extend? I know it doesn't have internal zoom but haven't been able to find an answer on the focus.

A: The HD PENTAX-D FA 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR Lens has internal mechanisms for focusing and does not extend during focus adjustments.

Q: 10. Most lens descriptions note if the design includes UD or aspheric glass. None is stated for this lens. Does it have none?

A: The Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens has three (3) aspherical and one (1) ultra dispersion (UD) lens elements, as well as Air Sphere and fluorine coatings.
