Celestron Lab's CB2000C Compound Binocular Microscope is ideally suited for the classroom and lab environments with a comfortable binocular head design and broad magnification range. Its four-objective turret holds the 4x, 10x, 40x, 100x achromatic objectives and the instrument comes with two sets of eyepieces that produce magnifications from a practical 40x to a powerful 2000x. One of each size eyepiece features an integrated pointer. A port on the front of the head accepts the included trinocular attachment that will allow a third eyepiece to be used, or to mount imaging equipment.

The 5.5 x 5.5" stage is articulated on the X and Y axes and a limit-stop lock prevents the objectives from striking the specimen/slides as well as providing the optimal working distance. An adjustable-intensity halogen bulb under the stage provides the necessary illumination and the manually adjustable iris and Abbe condenser ensures the perfect amount of light and beam spread to illuminate the specimen without washing it out. Use the dual coarse/fine coaxial focus knobs with the right-eye dioptric adjustment to bring all specimens into sharp, clean focus.

It was sent to a bright 9 year old girl, and she loves it and the slides and the book.

I purchased this microscope for my granddaughter, a grade 5 student. As a retired physician with experience in using a microscope, I would judge this instrument an excellent value for its price. The illumination is of the fixed Koehler type, but there are work-arounds and the achromatic objectives are surprisingly good. Photomicrography can be a problem, not because of the microscope itself, but because of the constraints of available instruments. The Celestrone prepared slides are excellent. Richard Headstrom's Adventures with a Microscope can be highly recommended as manual for activities.

Well made and does exactly what it's supposed to. The single knob loosens both ball joints, which also rotate so you can put the slots where you need them, and the center serrated section. The serrated center section allows it to take a good load without slipping. The single knob also means you have to grab everything in your hand to position it simultaneously, but that's not usually a big deal. It works exactly like some small machine tool indicator holders, if you've seen those- very rigid.

I have only had this unit for a few weeks but love the ability to create some amazing art. One client said EPIC.

However, BH did not have all the parts I need to use my cameras. I had to go to Amazon to find the adapter for the trinocular. Otherwise all good.

I will also note that the lenses on this system are not like Zeiss or other high end models. So, for me what works best is my 24mp D750 vs my 45mp Z9. With the Z9 all images are a bit soft. I am assuming that is a lens issue because all my images are perfectly sharp otherwise.

Happy viewing.

I am a High School teacher. Recently, my children and I were discussing microscopic life, so I decided to look into purchasing a microscope. After a few hours of browsing the web, I found your website, and, at that point, we knew we had found the right store and microscope for us. Some of the features I love about this microscope are as follows:1) Integration of Fine Focus knob in to the Coarse Focus knob.2) Wider Stage3) Two sets of eye pieces 10x and 20x4) Trinocular (which means that there is a third tube at the top to put a camera?) 5) This configuration came with a USB camera to attach to your computer.Overall the microscope works well and my kids are learning! If you want the same for your children, buy them this one, dont buy them a toy microscope.I enjoyed their product so much, I spent an additional $$on a Telescope. Science nights have changed around our house!!! :)

The quality of this microscope and its price make it a perfect choice for a public or private school teacher to purchase and use in their classroom. One of the problems encountered by most students in public schools, when allowed to use a microscope, is that the quality is so poor that any interest or excitement is lost. With the addition of a HD camera connect to the third tube a realtime presentation can be made to an entire classroom. As for home schooling ... what better than a means to actually see what has been described in a text and then share that visual on a PC with others.
