The yellow, 20 liter Pro-Sports Waterproof Backpack from OverBoard is a bag with a 1,200 cubic inch capacity that is designed to be able to float and keep its contents dry even when briefly submersed up to three feet. Utilizing a fold-seal closure that is secured with a snap-buckle, this bag features an IP66 rating and is suitable for use while on a boat, raft, or whenever there is an elevated risk of the wearer or their backpack falling into water. Alternatively, this bag can be closed using side buckles. Aside from providing protection from accidental immersion and the ability for later retrieval, the Pro-Sports Waterproof Backpack may also be used for instances where some exposure to water is anticipated, such as while crossing a stream or river.

To help ensure that this Pro-Sports Waterproof Backpack is comfortable to carry, its shoulder straps feature both padding and ventilation in addition to a ventilated back panel that further cools the wearer. An adjustable sternum strap as well as a waist strap provides additional stability and built-in lumbar support reduces pressure on the lower back.

Six external D-rings allow for direct and secure attachment of accessories while two mesh side pockets and an external mesh front pocket provide visible and easily accessible compartments. On top of the external mesh front pocket is webbing that can be tightened before being held in place with a snap buckle. A tarp, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, or coat can be easily and securely bound to the outside of the Pro-Sports Waterproof Backpack without the need to use valuable inside space. Inside the bag is a 9.8 x 8.3" pocket, suitable for items that require a higher level of security separate from those that simply need to be accessed quickly and conveniently.

Should the need arise to retrieve this bag under darkness or low-light; reflective external patches are included on the front surface and on both shoulder straps, and for emergency situations, the sternum strap features an emergency whistle buckle.

Q: 4. Will this bag fit a nikon Df with the 200-500mm lens attached?

A: Yes. I use it for a D750 with the 200-500 lens. The Df body is slightly smaller than the D750, so it should fit just fine.

Q: 6. Looking to take sony a1 and a7IV cameras + Sony 100-400mm GM and 16-35mm lens onboard zodiacs. They recommend waterproof bags just in case the bags go overboard. Wondering if 20L will accomodate these or if I need to go with 30L?

A: I use it with my Canon 5D MK III with a 300mm f2.8 L II with hood attached and ready to use. The combination is 45cm (17 3/4 )in length. The diameter of the lens hood is 14cm (5 1/2 . )I can easily roll the closing 3 or 4 times before fastening the clips so there is plenty of room for my needs. There is even room for padding, if needs be. I can, also, throw in a small waterproof bag that holds my CF card holder and some extra batteries. I will take it on its first kayak voyage in a couple of weeks. I took some photos with the combination inside the bag but I cannot upload them in this answer.

Q: 10. What is the interior configuration of this backpack? Does it have dividers similar to a typical camera storage bag?

A: The OverBoard Ultra-Light Pro-Sports Waterproof Backpack (Black, 30L) has one large main opening and a separate zippered compartment designed for keys, wallets, or other items. There are no other dividers inside the waterproof backpack.

A previous bag I had did not meet the standard, I lost a very expensive lens and so forth. This bag appears to be made of the same material the military uses for their gear. The only bag you should buy ! I say this as former search and rescue aircrew

I have been looking for a waterproof deck bag for my kayak to hold my photo equipment. EOS 20 D, couple of lenses etc and this bag is perfect. It was also the least expensive price on the net. B&H service was exceptional. I could not be more pleased!

I purchased this product to take on my kayak. I am an avid bird photographer and was worried about my expensive camera getting wet. No worries with this bag - worked perfect. I first dropped in the water with a shirt and left it for about 3 minutes - the shirt was perfectly dry still - no leakage. The only draw back is it's not padded that great, but I took my camera out of it's bag and placed in between some foam and it was just perfect.

I am avid kayaker that has a lot of experience using various brands of dry bags. This is a good one. I actually do not use it for my camera gear (watershed is my favorite for keeping very expensive gear safe in adverse situations), but I would use this for quick access to a camera if I had too. The buckles are well made and durable. The bag is a heavier PVC material that will take some abuse. The external zipper pocket seems to be waterproof. Pro tip: Do not secure this bag to bungee cord on the your kayak deck. Use a non stretch line such as 550 cord.
