The Tiffen 4 x 6" 1 Chocolate Soft-Edge Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a neutral, mellow brown coloration to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 1 color density provides less chocolate coloration than the 2 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 4 x 6" / 101.6 x 152.4mm.

Note: A horizontal orientation filter's line of transition runs parallel to the long side of the filter.

Provides a mellow brownish coloring to select areas of the image.

Graduated filter design keeps a portion of the image neutral, resulting in a more realistic look while allowing for the sky or other bright areas to take on the color of the density.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I’ve heard this lens had stabilization issues when mounted to the original BMPCC (micro jitters, IS turning off & on, etc). Is this the same case with the BMPCC4K?

A: We are not aware of any issues using this lens with the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K.

Q: 2. Does this lens focus and shoot quickly? I had a Tamron 70-200 2.8 that I used an adapter for that was sooooooo slow and I ended up selling it.

A: It is very fast to focus, but better than any adapted lens.

Q: 3. Has anybody used this lens with a gimbal such as the Moza Air 2 yet? I know the 24-70mm f/4 is sold in the Z6 filmmaker kit and works fine with the Moza Air 2 purchased there. But, I know this is a heavier piece of glass and I'm trying to find out if this lens is still easy to use on the gimbal. Let me know if anyone has used it in that setting or knows the answer to this.

A: The Moza Air 2 would have no issues supporting the Z6 with this lens.

Q: 4. I have this mounted on an FS-7, but I can't get it to do a slow creeping zoom. At the slowest speed on the handle zoom it is still too fast - any suggestions without using a separate zoom controller?

A: Yes, that is the slowest it can zoom without getting a separate zoom controller.

Q: 5. Can this lens be mounted on Olympus Pen Lite cameras? Specifically the E-PL6 model.

A: Yes buddy, you can. Actually you can mount this lens on any micro 4/3 compatible mount, particularly Panasonic and Olympus cameras, but not only those.

Q: 6. I have a NEX 7 are there any issues using this lens with my camera? What if any limitations might there be? It seems that a tulip style lens shade would allow the autofocus to perform better than the square video style supplied - is that true?

A: This lens is fully compatible with the Sony NEX-7. The shape of the lens hood you use will not affect the functionality of the camera's autofocus.

Q: 7. How smooth is this focus ring? And how many turns does it take to go from closest focus to infinite in video mode on an Olympus and Panasonic body (preferrable EM1ii, EM5ii, GX85, G85 and GH5).

A: Very smooth. It takes a bit less than 1.5 turns. I have a Lumix GX85

Q: 8. Can this Z lens work with Nikon full frame camera (850) by turning the collar around?

A: The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Lens is only compatible with Nikon full frame mirrorless Z cameras. It is not compatible with Nikon full frame DSLR cameras.

Q: 9. Does this work with the z6 iii?

A: Yes, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Lens for Mirrorless Cameras with UV Filter Kit is compatible with the Nikon Z6 III Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 10. The description says the lens is quiet, but is the focusing quiet enough to use a hot shoe-mounted mic when shooting video? How's it compare to the AF-S in focusing noise?

A: The lens is very quiet and a hotshoe mic will not pick up any lens noise.
