The Tram TR50 is a professional omnidirectional electret condenser lavalier microphone with a low-profile design resulting in low visibility. The TR50 features a frequency response that enhances the character and frequencies associated with speech.

The polar pattern provides a generous pick up response at the direct and off-axis sections of the microphone capsule. This enhances sensitivity and minimizes noise associated with movement, wind and clothing contact. The TR50 features minimum sound coloration and is available in a variety of connectors for direct integration with wireless transmitters. This version features a TA4 connection for use with Telex wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this pass 8 channels of embedded AES/EBU SDI audio?

A: Yes it will pass 8 channels of SDI audio to the HDMI.

Q: 2. Does the mini converter add any delay? Signal path is Camera to SDI output to mini converter to HDMI output to monitor. Will the hdmi output on my monitor be in sync with the real time action in front of the camera?

A: The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 3G will add less than a frame of delay, but HDMI monitors will have it's own delay in processing and displaying. You can expect a delay of about a couple of frames. Delay more than 2-3 frames will be noticeable.

Q: 3. I plan on using two of these in SDI to HDMI configuration so that I can connect BM HyperDeck Mini Output A (FULL) and Output B (KEY) into ATEM Mini Extreme as 2 HDMU inputs so that I can bring in graphic overlays properly that have audio in the clip or without audio in the clip. On 04/14/2021 BOB has a comment that these converters do not work without audio channel for his HDMI to SDI configuration. I plan to use them for SDI to HDMI, is audio always required because not all overlay graphics have audio embedded in them?

A: Audio is not required. There will always be audio from the Hyperdeck anyway even if it is blank. You wouldn't need two Bidirectional converters unless you had a use for the SDI to HDMI direction. The Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 3G would work just as well.

Q: 4. Can the HDMI output be used as a passthrough to the HDMI input? For example: Camera -- HDMI -- converter -- Simultaneous SDI and HDMI output

A: Yes it can be used for that purpose.

Q: 5. How long of an SDI cable run can I expect? Trying to do a multi-camera baseball game and have to cover some long distances. Wireless transmitters are out of my budget and I already have the cables.

A: SDI cables can run up to 196 feet before experiencing noticeable signal drops. You can use SDI repeaters or distribution amplifiers to increase the range of your SDI run.

Q: 6. Has anyone tried using this to convert the signal from a Red Komodo to DJI's Eagle Eye wireless transmitter on the Ronin S2?

A: While in theory this would work fine to turn an SDI signal out of the Red Komodo in to HDMI we are not aware of any specific tests on it or how it could be rigged up to the Ronin RS-2.

Q: 7. The original big Ursa 4k does not work with camera control on atem... Will this converter give control control between the big Ursa and an atem?

A: The original URSA (not Mini or Mini Pro models) camera does not support camera control from ATEM switchers. Adding this converter will not add support for this feature.

Q: 8. Can this input at 24p and output at 60p? What is the latency?

A: No, the BMD Micro Converter will not change the frame rate of the video signal. The converter has less than a single line of delay in most cases. However, depending on the signals you are converting, it could be up to a single frame at most.

Q: 9. Can this be used to improve the latency on an external monitor caused by using a camera with HDMI only outputs, such as the GH5?

A: No, this converter will not help improve the latency.

Q: 10. can this apply a LUT to the sdi in/out? not interested in going to hdmi. i just want sdi in/out to apply a lut.

A: No, the Blackmagic Design Micro Converter Bidirectional SDI/HDMI 3G cannot apply a LUT.
