The STM-1 is a low-cost, high-quality miniature wall and surface mount microphone preamplifier from RDL, designed for use in commercial sound and broadcast applications. The compact size makes it ideal where a larger or heavier preamp cannot be used.

The high-performance circuit provides a fixed 50dB gain to bring any microphone-level signal up to the line-level range of nearly any line input. The STM-1 supply input is single ended and operates from 24 to 33VDC. Operation from 12VDC is possible with a 6dB reduction in headroom. For intercom applications, the input will operate directly from a speaker.

Q: 1. i appreciate that hte bokeh is appreciated, but i am looking for crisp images thru an expanded distance(f/i running children against a far hedge? Any feedback on this would be appreciated!

A: On a Canon Em mount APS-C camera, 22mm has the wide perspective of 53°. As you may know, the wider the lens, more DOF or Depth of Field (the area in focus) is created. The more you stop down ((increased the lens aperture number from f/2 to say, f/16, you will make the lens a universal, everything in focus lens. You will have no trouble keeping your kids in focus on a bright sunny day. In twilight, you will have to refocus.

Q: 2. Is this lens good for street photography?

A: Certainly, it will give you a field of view similar to a 40mm lens, which would be ideal for street photography.

Q: 3. can this lens be used on a EOS DSLR?

A: No, unfortunately it cannot. I think the M in EF-M means that it is intended to be mounted on a mirrorless camera. That is a different mount than the EOS DSLR.

Q: 4. Hello. Can it be used used on a Rebel T4i?

A: Yes, this lens is compatible with the T4i, all EF and EF-S lenses are compatible.

Q: 5. Not all Canon lenses enable DPAF Movie Servo AF. Is this lens compatible with Movie Servo AF?

A: This being a STM lens, this is compatible with Movie Servo AF.

Q: 6. Does this come in black??

A: yes it does

Q: 7. Is there an adapter for this lens to go on a e mount camera like the Sony a6500?

A: Unfortunately, B&H does not carry adapters for the Canon EF-M mount lenses. Im not aware of any options on the market that would enable one to mourn an EF-M lens onto an E-mount camera.

Q: 8. Is it black like the M6II or gun metal like M6?

A: The lens is black, similar to the M6II.

Q: 9. bring lens hoods?

A: The Canon ES-52 Lens Hood is compatible but not included. http://bhpho.to/383yTi0

Q: 10. How does it work for video? Without IS, does it work well for video? 18-150 is a bit heavy/poorly balances on the gimbal.

A: If you used this lens on the Canon EOS M50 which has 5 axis stabilization, then this would alleviate the need for stabilization in the lens. If using it on an EOS M camera without stabilization for video, then using a hand held gimbal is the best way to add stability.

I needed a simple lens for an infrared conversion camera and this prime lens has been the perfect fit: Its short length has turned my EOS M3 into the perfect extra camera in the bag that is not obtrusive or weighty. The images delivered are sharp and crisp. It's a sweet lens for its price and size!

I was not happy with the lens that came with my EOS M50. It's fine for photography, but I only use it for video. This 22mm is perfect for the standard shot I do. The f/2 gets me the shallow focus look I want.

The only thing is it is pricey, a problem with most EF-M lenses. I do have some buyer's remorse that I didn't buy a lens adapter and get an older Canon lens. but it's nice to not have one more thing to deal with. From now on, this is the lens I'm going to use 90% of the time.

Aside from that, I am over the moon with this lens and very happy I have it.

I love this lens. I bought it to accompany a basic mirrorless camera and now leave this lens on as my main lens instead of the
15-45mm and 55-200mm that I also have. Those serve their purpose, of course, but I am mesmerized by what is possible with this one.

It just quit focusing after about a month of mild use . I sent it back and they sent me a new one, no problems, Thanks.

Using this lens with my Canon M6 Mark II has captured a wealth of imagery of a quality I have never before found at this price level. From portraiture to landscapes, I have been continually impressed with how it effortlessly takes shots seemingly beyond my own photographic abilities. Once you put this lens on your camera you'll be reluctant to take it back off. A wonderful piece of optical engineering.

I'm a beginner and bought the Canon M50 to create videos on YouTube.

The standard kit lens is great but I want to do closeup filming as well as some indoor work and this lens is just perfect.

Great for low light and so far I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever need anything else besides this lens for my needs.

I use a gimbal so the lack of built in stability for the lens of no concern at all.

I have not used it long, yet I think it's the best bang for your buck

Simply put, this lens is amazing! I've always wanted this lens after I got my M50 II. I would have eventually got it but when I saw the Black Friday deal for $50 off, I jumped on it and I'm so glad I did! Whether you're a vlogger, videographer or just a photographer who likes to take portraits, this is a must have for you. You won't regret it . Five stars no doubt.
