The Tiffen 2 x 3" 2 Skyfire Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a unique orange to yellow gradient to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 2 color density provides less skyfire coloration than the 3 density, but more than the 1 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 2 x 3" / 50.8 x 76.2mm.

Note: A horizontal orientation filter's line of transition runs parallel to the long side of the filter.

Q: 1. Any luck with an A7ii/Metabones combination?

A: I tried this combination. It's finicky. My A7ii was crashing every 15min or so. Screen would go black and the shutter clicked a few times. Turning camera off/on didn't help. I had to remove battery and put back in. This happened 4 times in an hour. While it worked, the pics were beautiful - auto focus was accurate and using the EVF was so great. But the crashing made it too annoying to trust this setup. Native on my 70D it worked perfectly. So, based only on my test, A7ii/Metabones combination was not reliable enough to recommend with this lens.

Q: 2. Does anyone have a recommended bag to carry it in on the camera body?Could someone say how long the end to end dimensions are for this lens on a Nikon D610?

A: The D610 with the Tamron 150-600mm lens attached will have a length of 13.35. For a case to accommodate the two, you might look at the Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 30 V2.0 (B&H # THDH30). With its Pop Down feature, the bag would be long enough for the D610 with the 150-600mm lens attached.

Q: 3. Can this be used on a Nikon D7000?

A: Yes, karen K; I'm using it with my Nikon D7000 and works excellently. Highly recommend the Tamron. Remember it weights 4 1/2 pounds and you will need sometime to dominate it handheld. 98% of my shots are handheld. It focuses very fast and its VR is very useful.

Q: 4. will this lense work with a D3400?

A: Not sure.

Q: 5. does this work with a micro 4/3 format?

A: This lens has a Nikon mount, it is not compatible on M43 natively.

Q: 6. Will this lens work with a Nikon D5200?

A: Yes, the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens for Nikon would be fully compatible for use on the Nikon D5200 DSLR camera.

Q: 7. Can this system (Evolution alt az mount/drive) be used for long tracking astro-photo exposures such as would normally be done with a wedge or equatorial mount?

A: A wedge can be purchased for this telescope, effectively making it an equatorial mount. Without the wedge, the telescope is not suitable for long exposures because the tube rotates with respect to the sky as it tracks.

Q: 8. Is hard box included ?

A: This kit does have the JMI Telescopes Hard Carrying Case for 8" Celestron NexStar Evolution.

Q: 9. I have heard that there was a focus hanging issue with this lens, and the issue was resolved by a latest firmware upgrade. Is there a way to check whether the new stock at B&H will come with the latest firmware? Thanks.

A: Unfortunately, we are not able to access our inventory to check what firmware versions our products have installed. It is not uncommon that from the time the manufacturer ships a product out, to the time it takes to arrive to you after purchase that a new firmware version could be released. We always advise when purchasing a new camera or other device with firmware options to check the version installed upon receipt, and then check the manufacturers website to compare against what the latest version is. If there is a new version available they will post directions on how to update/install, which is very simple to perform.

Q: 10. Is there a way to connect an Olympus OM-D E-M10 for astrophotography?

A: Yes. You need a T-Adapter for the telescope so that it can accept T-treaded accessories. Then you need a T-mount ring that will allow you to mount the telescope onto your camera as if it were a huge telephoto lens. Both of these accessories are readily available from B&H and elsewhere. The T-Adaptor replaces the rear cell of the telescope, the T-mount ring screws into the T-adapter, and then you attach your camera to the T-mount just as you would attach any other lens. You will need to focus the telescope manually, but all of the other features of the E-M10 will work in this set up.
