You wouldn't be able to use this lens in full-frame mode on the a7R II, but that camera has better 4K video quality in APS-C mode anyway.

A: The aperture isn't fixed, but constant. f/4 is the largest aperture available, but you can set it to anything smaller if necessary and it won't change as you zoom. Whereas with variable aperture lenses, the largest aperture gets smaller as you zoom narrower.
