The Tiffen 105mm Coarse Thread CC40R Red Filter is a color compensating (or color correction) filter for use when making color balance adjustments. It can be used to alter the color balance of a scene by placing in front of a light source or the lens of your camera. It can also be used to apply color corrections when used in the darkroom with an enlarger or to help pre-visualize color adjustments when viewing prints.

Red is the opposite of cyan and can be used to reduce cyan tones or casts within a scene or print. This red CC40 is more dense than a CC30 filter and less dense than a CC50 filter, and requires a 0.6 stop compensation for normal exposure results.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Q: 1. how to stop power zoom 18-105mm sony?

A: Hi! You have to option to use the lever for power zoom or the zoom ring for manual zoom. -Anthony

Q: 2. Does this lens support 4K video on a6300 or a7RII or does it max out at being able to record 1080P video? Thanks!

A: On the a6300 and the A7R II, yes, absolutely you can shoot 4K video with this lens. This lens is an APS-C lens. Both of those cameras support 4K video in APS-C. You wouldn't be able to use this lens in full-frame mode on the a7R II, but that camera has better 4K video quality in APS-C mode anyway.

Q: 3. The lens is fixed at F4 when zooming, but can the lens be manually set to larger or smaller F stops?

A: The aperture isn't fixed, but constant. f/4 is the largest aperture available, but you can set it to anything smaller if necessary and it won't change as you zoom. Whereas with variable aperture lenses, the largest aperture gets smaller as you zoom narrower.

Q: 4. I read some comment that this len has some issues: 1) it doesn't support the Phase Detection AF in NEX 6, is this true? I will be getting SONY a6000, does this len support the fast phase detection and eye AF in a6000? 2) heavy pincushion distortion from 30mm and above, has this been resolved ?

A: We are not aware of any compatibility issues with the 18-105 and the A6000. Because of its long focal length range wide constant f/stop, the lens does exhibit some pincushion distortion in RAW files. JPEGS are corrected in camera and RAW files can be fixed in post with lens profiles for Lightroom and Photoshop.

Q: 5. how far does barrel extend from body when zoomed or it is all zoom function confined into the barrel ?

A: The barrel extends to 1.7".

Q: 6. Can RF lenses be used on EF mounts with an adapter? If so what adaptor is used?

A: Sorry there is no adapter to use RF lenses to EF camera body

Q: 7. i would like to ask about focus speed in sony a6500

A: Fairly quick.

Q: 8. SI the lense parfocal ?

A: No, this lens is not parfocal.

Q: 9. How bad is the focus breathing for video use?

A: Very minimal breathing with this lens, good choice for video.

Q: 10. compatibile with nex7?

A: The Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens is compatible with the Sony NEX-7 camera.
