The Tiffen 105mm Coarse Thread CC40M Magenta Filter is a color compensating (or color correction) filter for use when making color balance adjustments. It can be used to alter the color balance of a scene by placing in front of a light source or the lens of your camera. It can also be used to apply color corrections when used in the darkroom with an enlarger or to help pre-visualize color adjustments when viewing prints.
Magenta is the opposite of green and can be used to reduce green tones or casts within a scene or print. This magenta CC40 is more dense than a CC30 filter and less dense than a CC50 filter, and requires a 0.6 stop compensation for normal exposure results.
Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. will this work on a 7A?
A: If you are referring to the Sony A7, while the lens will fit on the camera this is an APS-C only lens. It will not cover the full frame of the Sony A7. You would have to shoot in an APS-C mode with the camera to use this lens.
Q: 2. Is there any way to avoid the zoom reverting to 18mm setting when the camera goes into energy saving mode or is turned off? Is this a common occurrence with fly-by-wire zoom. Very annoying to have to re-zoom every time!
A: Most Sony cameras allow you to set the energy-saving interval time; on the a6400, it can be set to 30 minutes before the power is cut off. Look on the camera menu under the setup icon.
Q: 3. Is somebody using this lens with a7sii?; how does the autofocus works shooting video?; could you have constant focus shooting video?; does it has good sharpness?, etc
A: This is APS-C lens , if you use this lens with full frame Sony , Camera will crop to APS-C you will lose resolution and angle of view
Q: 4. Can power zoom speed be adjusted for slower video zooms, either on lens or in camera (a6500 or a7s ii)?
A: There's a zoom rocker on the side of the barrel that changes the speed of the zoom based on its position moving it just slightly from center results in slow, steady movement, and you can increase the speed by moving it to its extreme.
Q: 5. Would this lens fit on a Panasonic GH5 if I were to get an adapter for it? If so what kind of adapter would I need for it to fit on the GH5?
A: I am not aware of any Sony lens compatible adapter for a Panasonic GH5 but I use a Metabones adapter to attach my Canon lenses to my Sony a6600.
Q: 6. What is the length closed, and fully extended ?
A: 4-3/8 Internal zoom does not extend.
Q: 7. Which lenses have better image quality and sharper images for sony a6500? 18-105 / 18-135 or 18-200? Looking for lenses to take with me when I travel or go on a hike or something. TIA
A: Hi,if you only take photos go for the 18-135, if you take photos and video go for the 18-105 because it's constant aperture and power zoom. The 18-200 has more range but less quality.
Q: 8. When zooming, does the lens change in length?
A: Hi Steven, no the lens won't extend.
Q: 9. how to stop power zoom 18-105mm sony?
A: Hi! You have to option to use the lever for power zoom or the zoom ring for manual zoom. -Anthony
Q: 10. Is the focusing motor silent? Will a shotgun mounted mic pick up the lens focusing?
A: Hi--there are no totally silent focusing motors, but the USM is a quiet AF motor.
