Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the dimensions of the XLR box itself? Specs say 19" x 19" but that seems way too big. The picture looks more like 8" x 8" or 9" x 9". Can you verify?

A: I called and Woody at Pro Co looked it up; it's 7 x 7 x 3"

Q: 2. Is this XLR using Neutrik connectors?

A: Yes Mogami furnishes this cable with Neutrik connectors.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with the input and output connectors on AJA KiPro 12G?

A: The Pro Co DA88XF-5 can be used to connect eight XLR audio outputs from a mixer to the DB25 input on the AJA Ki Pro Ultra 12G. You would need a cable with DB25 to male XLR connectors to connect the DB25 output from the AJA Ki Pro Ultra 12G to the XLR audio inputs on a mixer, recorder or other audio input device. B&H # PRDB258XM5 is the same type of Pro Co cable with male XLR connectors.

Q: 4. Is this break out split up for input and output?

A: The Pro Co Sound DA88XM-5 is an 8 channel cable with male XLR connections only which can only be used in 1 direction.

Q: 5. Help me the set up sure sm 57 vip microphone

A: Each SM57 requires an XLR cable to connect it to your chosen output (typically either the input of a mixer or powered speaker). The end that connects to each SM57 should be XLR Female, and your mixer or speaker should have either an XLR inuput (where you can plug in an XLR Male cable termination) or 1/4" input for a 1/4" Male cable termination. In summary, you will need either two XLR F to XLR M cables or two XLR F to 1/4" M cables, depending on what you are plugging the two mics into.

Q: 6. Are these cables American made?

A: Here is My Stars statement from their website PRO SERIES MICROPHONE CABLE If you need a reliable microphone cable that is designed to handle the toughest, on-the-road, on-stage, demands with unsurpassed reliability, then MyStarSound’s Pro Series Microphone cable is the last cable you will ever need. Extremely flexible with soldered and sealed ends, the Pro Series Microphone Cable delivers premium fidelity. Heat shrink is added for extra durability..

Q: 7. Are the connectors gold or silver?

A: The contacts on the RODE XLR Male to XLR Female Cable have a silver surface.

Q: 8. Do you pseudo design these to make them balanced cables? Soldering the (-) to the ground ?? I have klark teknik dn 504 quad compressors and need at least six of these cables re-configured.

A: We cannot offer modification advice.

Q: 9. Looking for a mic cable with high quality transmission plus extra strength for hanging microphone arrays. Does the kelvar reinforcement in this cable make it strong enough to suspend mics and array hardware from just the mic cables?

A: Yes, the Pro Co Sound AmeriQuad 3-Pin XLR Male to 3-Pin XLR Female Lo-Z Microphone Cable can be used with hanging microphone arrays. As with any cable that will be used to suspend a microphone, just be aware of the weight of the mic and test it beforehand to make sure that it is secure.

Q: 10. Is thi the item to use when trying to attach a shotgun mic to my D750? Does it work to reduce noise coming through the mic?

A: The A85F serves a similar purpose however designed for PA systems with 1/4 inputs. Not compatible with the D750 which requires a different matching transformer with a 1/8 connection. If you have a self (battery) powered shotgun mic with XLR output and would like to connect it to a DSLR camera with a 1/8 input jack the Kopul LMT-100 is a proper adapter.

Love the Pro Co Ameriquad stuff!!! No noise, flexible, transparent, doesn't kink, durable, well-built in the U.S.A...what else could you ask for?!? I'd put Ameriquad stuff head-to-head against anything out there - you can spend more, but why???

All the components are good: flexible wire, molded-on connectors, and lifetime warranty. I'll probably buy more.

We have only two XLR jacks in the ceiling above our stage. Our choir has increased in size and I needed to cover a larger area. So I am using two of these and I am able to hang four overhead choir mics now. Works great.

I've been using ProCo AmeriQuad cables for years and love them. This cable has black neutrik connectors. These are very flexible, easy to use, and appear to be of extremely high quality. Very low noise compared to some other cables I've used. It's hard to tell too much about a cable's quality until something goes wrong. But, I've put my older ones through fairly rigorous use and never had a problem. The cable itself is USA made, also.

Very impressed with the quality of this cable. ProCo gives it a lifetime warranty. The packaging says: If this cable fails we'll replace it free---any excuse---even abuse---Period! This tour tough cable has a great sound and feel, coils well, and is made in the U.S.A. When I ordered this, I didn't know how strongly its maker backs it; what a great surprise.

In fairness, I don't have experience with the Mogami's of the world, but these are of excellent build quality and sound transparent to me. My experience is limited, but these have introduced no noise or artifacts to my recordings and my drums/cymbals sound like themselves, so to me, that says a lot!
