Q: 1. Will the Canon Extender EF 2X III work with autofocus with theCanon EF 100-400mm/f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens on the Canon 5D Mark iv camera?

A: When paired with the Canon Extender EF 2X III, the Canon EF 100-400mm/f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens would become the equivalent of a 200-800mm f/9-11 lens. The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera requires the lens to have an equivalent maximum aperture of f/8 or brighter to maintain autofocus capability. As the aperture of the 100-400mm lens with the 2x teleconverter would be f/9-11, it would not maintain autofocus, and as such, you would have to focus the lens manually. Automatic exposure and automatic metering would still be possible. If you need to maintain autofocus, then I would instead recommend the Canon Extender EF 1.4X III, B&H # CA14XEF3. With the Canon EF 100-400mm/f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens and the Canon Extender EF 1.4X III, the lens would be the equivalent of a 140-560mm f/6.3-8 lens, and would retain autofocus capability.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with EF cameras ie BMPCC 6kPro?

A: The Canon HJ40ex10B EPF Lens would be best used with the Black Magic URSA Broadcast camera model which includes a B4 lens mount designed for this lens. When using the Pocket Cameras you would need a lens adapter, power and a camera cage that can support the lens weight. An adapter is listed below. Q: 3. Can this be used with the Panasonic HPX370?

A: Yes, that pairing is compatible.

Q: 4. WHERE SHOULD THE SENSORS BE MOUNTED ON A TYPICAL SETUP?

A: This lens is normally used on a ENG or broadcast studio camera. Within that camera is the sensor that this lens focuses on.

Q: 5. can this lens be used with the Blackmagic URSA Mini 4k?

A: It cannot. While the is an adapter for B4 lenses with Ursa Mini cameras, the lenses need to be 2/3". This is a 1/3" lens.

Q: 6. is this compatible with Canon 6D + Sigma 150-500mm lens?

A: Compatibility list, thanks to B&H (saved a great deal of time navigating CUSA's convoluted sit -- https://www.bhphotovideo.com/FrameWork/charts/canon2xExtender.html

Q: 7. I was using this camera to film a football game but found myself focusing the game manually the entire time. Is this lens capable of AutoFocus? Just wondering.

A: This is strictly a manual focus lens.

Q: 8. Do you have Canon lenses which has closed specs to this product.?Please advise.Best regard,Glenn

A: While not exact in specs the Canon KT14x44KRS 1/3 HDgc Lens is the only Canon Lens we offer that will work on the JVC 1/3 cameras like the HM710 and HM790.

Q: 9. will autofocus work in canon 5d mark iv?

A: With most lenses yes. B&H has a compatibility chart.

Q: 10. I have the Canon EOS Rebel SL1, with an EF-S 55mm-250mm lens that i would like to use this with. is it compatible with my body and lens?

A: This Canon 2X EF Extender II is only compatible with a specific list of links (the list is posted under the Overview of the link for the extender). Unfortunately the Canon 55-250mm lens is not compatible with this teleconverter, nor is it compatible with any teleconverters. Zoom lenses whose widest focal is less than 70mm are not compatible with any teleconverters due to their design.

The 800mm lens will not autofocus with the 2x extender. The workaround that I discovered is to autofocus with a 1.4x extender, switch to manual focus, remove the camera, then swap out the 2x extender instead of the 1.4x extender and re-attach the camera. Has given me spectacular results essentially shooting at 1600mm.

It works but you will lose resolution but nothing is for free. I use it on a 300mm lens and it is far less costly than a 600mm which I won't use that often. I also have a large sensor so I can lose some resolution and still get more than acceptable image quality.

I couldn't be happier. AI Servo AF was spot on in a recent athletic event I covered. Very happy.

Have used it on a Canon D5 Mark IV and D7 Mark II with a 70-200 IS III lens with great results (both cameras). Autofocus is fast and sharp. Very happy to have made the decision to purchase.

I'm very new to wildlife photography, and discovered quickly that my Canon 6D wasn't going to cut it. I recently purchased the 2X extender along with a Canon 1D MII and a 400mm f4 DO lens. They all work beautifully together. I've only had the opportunity to work with them for a few days, but I'm very pleased with the results and am looking forward to getting to use it again.

My previous first generation 2x EF Extender had kind of okay quality when used on an EF 300mm f/2.8L IS.  On the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS it was not so good at all.  The mark iii versions works very nice on the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS iii.  Its not at sharp as a real 400mm lens but it is very good.

Just used the extender with a 100-400 mm lens while overseas and this combination delivered excellent results once I learned how focus technique.
