Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do you know if it's possible to unscrew one of the baby pins when only one light is attached?

A: The pins are welded in place.

Q: 2. How much weight can this hold? Do you think it can suspend properly a Westcott Zeppelin 47 with the Bowens mounting bracket, the focusing rod, a Bowens speed ring and a Phottix Indra500 TTL?

A: It's not quite as simple an answer as you may like. It depends on how you angle the pivoted extension. If it's angled down a 90 degree angle and a lightbox is simply hung from the spigot, then it should support pretty well any modifier and light. But if you angle a heavy modifier beyond 90 degrees down and therefore have to rely on the friction/clamping of the two small wing nuts, you may find it frustrating, ie. difficult to hold a position. Hand tightening the wing nuts probably won't create enough grip on the spigot and you'd probably have to use a wrench or pliers to add leverage to the tightening. I bought this drop down pin for, as the name implies, it's ability to drop down a light modifier and simply hang it on the spigot. If you keep to that use, or use it with a light weight modifier/light combo which should be ok to angle at other than 90 degrees, then you should be fine. I hope this helps.

Q: 3. If you pull the baby pin, could you use this as a dana dolly stand in place of the Matthews slider stands?

A: The feature of pulling out the baby pin is not mentioned by the MFR.

Q: 4. What is the size of the screw holes?

A: The scroll holes measure about 6mm.

Q: 5. Does the baby receiver on this triple also serve as a Junior stud - as does the Kupo version?

A: The receiver is not designed in a way that can be used as a junior pin.

Q: 6. How much is the load capacity?

A: Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not list a load capacity for this product. While it is a very sturdy product, how well it will hold depends on the application.

Q: 7. How much is the load capacity of the locking receiver?

A: I believe it depends on the capacity of the tripod. The F301 is a very sturdy and solid wall plate to place something on. As far as the load capacity you have to check the manufacturer specifications.

Q: 8. Anyone know if there is a version of this with a receiver instead at a 90 degree angle as well? Looking for something with similar load capacity and distance from the base.

A: I do not believe there is an option for a baby plate that is angled with a 5/8-inch receiver. One options is to use a 5/8 female to 5/8 female adapter like one of these, https://bhpho.to/3vmtsD9 .

Q: 9. What is the outside diameter of the receiver? Trying to determine if this could be used as a Junior Pin

A: If you remove the knob you could use it as a junior pin.

Q: 10. How much weight will the Avenger F809 Right Angle Baby Plate (Chrome-Plated) support? (I have a 17-lb. background) – Thanks.

A: The plate is a welded to a steel pin. The load limit will more be a matter of how you mount it and what you mount it too.

Light some candles, I install this bad boy in to the knuckle of a C-Stand, gaff tape a pice of foam core to it, face a flood light on it, face it at my talent and let my light explode all over them. It's ecstasy. Turn you hard light in to light ecstasy with the addition of this baby plate. I bought two.

After spending a few days looking for this exact product, I came across this Baby Plate. For my photo booth application, the 3 was a little high, but it works fantastically. It holds the strobe, what else could I ask for?
