This 52mm IR Black Red MRC Basic Filter #830/093 from B+W is a full intensity infrared filter that blocks the complete visible light spectrum, enabling image recording of the pure IR light range without visible red. The black and white contrasts are higher than those produced by dark-red IR filters.

The filter is made of precision German optical glass, each side featuring seven layers of Broadband coating for high contrast pictures with minimal residual reflection and uniform light transmission. The brass filter ring features an enhanced knurling pattern for improved grip and a special functional coating for smooth mounting and dismounting. The ring features front threads, and its low-profile design makes it suitable for use with wide-angle lenses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with Neo Rotolight?

A: According to Rotolight, the Neo 2 does not have IR triggering capabilities, so the Vello FWIRC-C FreeWave IR TTL Flash Commander for Canon will not work with it. Since the Neo 2 has a sync port, it can be connected to and triggered by multiple brands of [radio] transmitter/receiver sets using a PC sync to 3.5mm cable.

Q: 2. Will this work on my D500 to use Nikon SB 700 speedlight off camera?

A: Yes this will work with a D500 and a SB700.

Q: 3. Could this be used as a basic controller to operate a series of flashes in manual mode for a Fuji X-e2? Not interested in TTL capabilities, but the ability to use it as a basic controller/trigger.

A: No, that is designed to be used for Canon cameras and flashes that have the IR TTL system.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with Nikon Z6 and Z7 bodies?

A: I just tried on my Z7 with two Nikon R1 ring flashes. It worked perfectly. Very annoyed with no way to trigger remote flash from Z7. Not sure I like the twist-tight onto hot-shoe. Nikon flash's flip-tight is much better.

Q: 5. I have a Csnon 580 EXII. If I buy this. Should I also buy the Vello receiver? Or It just work alone with the camera and the flash? Thanks!

A: This transmitter can fire a 580EX II optically, as long as the two are in line of sight with one another.

Q: 6. Can each group (A, B, C) be independently set to different channels? Example: Group A to Channel 4, and Group B to Channel 2 at the same time.

A: You may set the desired group and the channel individually on the Nikon wireless infrared i-TTL flash(es) you own. Each flash does not have to be on the same group/channel. However, while you may also set different groups and channels on the Vello FWIRC-N FreeWave IR TTL Flash Commander for Nikon, you may only use one channel at a time on the Commander. As such, regardless of their group setting, if the off-camera flashes are not set to the channel actively set on the Vello FWIRC-N FreeWave IR TTL Flash Commander, then they will not fire.

Q: 7. I have both a Nikon D700 & D610 DSLR cameras both using a Nikon SB700 flash. Will this work with these combinations?

A: You can use this transmitter with those cameras and flash.

Q: 8. Can this unit be used on a Nikon D850 to trigger multiple SB600'd off camera?

A: Yes, this transmitter can be placed on the D850 to trigger multiple SB-600 flashes placed off camera in line of sight only.

Q: 9. Can I REMOTELY trigger both the shutter on my Canon R6 and fire the Canon 430EXII flash in Manual mode?

A: As long as you have a separate method to trigger your camera, you will trigger a flash setup using the Vello FWIRC-C FreeWave IR TTL Flash Commander for Canon. The Shutter release remote triggers the camera and the radio trigger in the hot shoe of the Canon R6 will fire any flashes that it has been connected to via the line of site ETTL communication method.

Q: 10. Will it work with 580EX2 ?

A: Indeed, that's how I use it. It's amazing and you can set all settings in the Camera if you have relatively modern Canon DSLR.
