State-of-the-art hardware. Designed for professional video production. The Ranger Series is powered by Teradek's Emmy and Academy Award-winning technology for zero-delay wireless

video transmission. This model boasts a maximum range of 5000', and it works seamlessly within a variety of professional broadcast, sports, and ENG applications, including handheld gimbals, drones, and shoulder-mounted production cameras.

Pair any combination of Ranger TX and RX together, regardless of model. That means your production can quickly scale and operate a variety of Ranger systems best suited to your environment, despite differences in transmission range. Mixed Ranger systems operate with a range of the lowest paired model. 6 GHz operation requires support on both the TX and RX.

When a delay in audio and video transmission is noticeable, it's nearly impossible to offer a lifelike experience. Ranger's patented zero-delay technology solves this problem. With Ranger, your audio and video signals are transmitted with ultra-low latency, even in 1080p60, providing a visually lossless and engaging experience for your viewers.

  • Install the Launchpad app on your macOS or Windows computer, or on iOS/Android phone
  • Bluetooth 5 LE connection support
  • Pair transmitters and receivers with the touch of a button
  • Measure and analyze the frequency and amplitude of a signal
  • View live channel strength for licensed/unlicensed bands
  • Monitor your live RF spectrum bandwidth

With the number of wireless devices on the rise, and a limited amount of frequency bands to choose from, there is little room for your signal to move without interference or disruption. But with Ranger, you have options: 5 GHz for general use, licensed band frequencies for special events, and the new 6 GHz U-NII-5 band for 12 new channels of uncongested wireless spectrum.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I am trying to run the HDMI output from a Sony CX405 handheld camera to this BM HDMI to SDI 3G converter - then into a BM HyperDeck Studio Mini. The HyperDeck Mini is not recognizing the SDI out of the converter- but the output from the camera does display on a TV. Do I need to adjust settings on the camera?

A: We would suggest starting with a software update on the following converter. This should allow the unit to be recognized and push a signal through. If this does not work we suggest getting in contact with Black Magic support team directly.

Q: 2. Do the HDMI to SDI micro converters have a nominal SDI dB or dBm output spec?

A: Black Magic does not provide this info unfortunately. However the SDI port is a standard 3G-SDI connection.

Q: 3. Compatible with bolt 6 receivers?

A: Yes, this battery plate is compatible with the Teradek Bolt 6 Receiver.

Q: 4. Does this work with the BMD Studio Micro camera control. The same way as with the Pocket cameras?

A: At the moment it does not. This will be addressed in a future update.

Q: 5. Can you use this on a RED Komodo to connect it to an Atem Mini? The Komodo is a 12g SDI and the micro Converter is 3g. Will this cause any damage or loss to image quality when I stream?

A: Yes, you can use the Blackmagic Micro Converter to connect to an ATEM Mini. The Blackmagic ATEM Mini down-converts to 1080p anyway so resolution will be scaled by default.

Q: 6. I have a Panasonic HC-X2000. I would like to connect it in the following manner: camera (SDI) out to this converter SDI in, then HDMI OUT to a monitor & SDI LOOP OUT to ATEM SDI PRO ISO. Is this possible? I'm currently only getting a signal on the monitor (HDMI IN).

A: That set-up should work. Contact Blackmagic or B&H support if the problem persists.

Q: 7. Hello what happen if I input 12G SDI signal from a camera such as Red V Raptor 8k, will this downscale the signal to 3G SDI output or it will not recognize the signal(12G)? Thanks!

A: This product will work as long as you are sending a resolution/Frame Rate that it can accept. If your camera sends out at DCI 2K or lower resolution at 60p or slower then it will process the signal. if you attempt to send something higher resolution or frame rate (4K etc) then the converter will not recognize the signal.

Q: 8. Does this terminate in a 4 pin or 2 pin lemo connector?

A: This terminates with a 2 Pin lemo.

Q: 9. Does the device support using both conversion options at the same time? i.e all ports are being used

A: The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter Bidirectional SDI/HDMI 3G does not support both conversion options at the same time.

Q: 10. Reclock: Does this reclock SDI to SDI?

A: Yes, the Blackmagic Design Micro Converter Bidirectional SDI/HDMI 3G (with Power Supply) will reclock SDI to SDI.
