Q: 2. Can I daisy chain this off of my CalDigit Ts3's spare TB3 port? Or does it need to be connected to the host?

A: You can use the CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 Element Hub daisy chained to a CalDigit TS3, but total bandwidth will be limited by the connection between the TS3 and the host computer.

Q: 5. Can this hood work with Canon ef 17-40 mm f/4L sum len ?

A: No. The Canon EW-83E Lens Hood would be the correct hood for the Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens. Here is the link for you: http://bhpho.to/TyXGkS

Q: 6. I bought this for the RF 24-105 4-7.1, and it's very snug to twist into place when installed forward (normal), but does not lock; when installed backward it slides lightly, perfectly, into place and locks. that's the opposite of my other locking hoods. any ideas?

A: Try rotating the Canon EW-73D Lens Hood when mounting it to the lens--it's a bayonet mount and the spacing may not be perfect, so one part of the bayonet may mount better than another.

Q: 7. Does this fit RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens?

A: That is not the lens hood for that lens; this is the correct lens hood: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1225882-REG/canon_1277c001_ew_73d_lens_hood.html

Q: 8. With muliple drives connected, will they "sleep" properly when the comp sleeps? ppl complain the TS4 improperly disconnects them

A: Setting a computer to sleep while devices are connected via the CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 Element Hub will have the same effect as if those devices were connected directly to a USB port on the computer.

Q: 9. I plan to connect a Mac Book Pro and an external drive to the dock. When I remove the laptop from the dock, would I need to eject the external drive first?

A: Yes, you should always safely eject all external media before disconnection to prevent any involuntary data loss.

Q: 10. Is this EW73D fit with Canon EF-S 18-135mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS STM ?

A: No. You want the EW73B. Don't worry, if you ordered D, I did as well. B&H was excellent when assuring I got the right equipment. Very eay! But...you need the B.
