A: This bracket fits and works well with the Nikon D4. The manual shows setting up the bracket on the camera so that the axis center point doesn't change when you switch from horizontal to vertical position, but on my Nikon D800 the bracket wouldn't set up without a significant difference between horizontal and vertical. Forget about using it so that your axis center point will stay the same regardless of position. The video on the Manfrotto web page shows a camera with a battery pack on the bottom of the camera. This does work because it makes the distance from the bottom of the lens to the bottom plate equal to the distance from the side of the camera to the other side of the L bracket. But for cameras like the D700 & D800 that don't have a bottom battery pack it will not set up as in the manual or the video.
