Author Marissa Chibas is a Los Angeles-based writer, filmmaker, actor, educator, and recipient of the TCG Fox Fellowship for Distinguished Achievement. She is on the Theater School faculty at the California Institute of the Arts where she is Director of Duende CalArts, an initiative at CalArts Center for New Performance that produces innovative Latinx and Latin American artists. Her work as an actor has been seen on Broadway and on major stages throughout the world, and her solo show, Daughter of a Cuban Revolutionary, has toured the U.S., Europe, and Mexico and was published by Routledge.

A: No, the Matthews Hollywood Century "C" Pro Grip Arm Kit - 10.5' (3.2m) legs are not spring loaded.

Q: 7. What is the shortest height of this C stand when the turtle base is removed? I want to know so that I can estimate if it will fit in my lighting case.

A: 46 inches without base. FYI....They are heavy so you'll need a sturdy case

A: Hey David,That's well within the weight capacity of the stand and arm. Just make sure that if you arm out the big leg is facing the weight. A large umbrella can mess with the center of balance, even if it is light. If you don't need to extend the arm out horizontally then you are probably better off with a Matthews beefy baby
