A friendly, hands-on training manual and reference for lighting technicians in motion picture and television production, the Set Lighting Technician's Handbook: Film Lighting Equipment, Practice, and Electrical Distribution from Focal Press is the most comprehensive guide to set lighting available. It provides a unique combination of practical detail with a big-picture understanding of lighting, technology, safety, and professionalism, essential to anyone doing motion picture lighting. The fifth edition delves into every aspect of lighting and features vastly expanded sections on controlling LED lights, color science, lighting control systems, wireless systems, Ethernet-based control systems, battery power, and modern set protocol for productions small and large. With a generous number of original images, the book illustrates the use of soft light, the effect of lighting angles, and how the gaffer and DP build an effective lighting plan around the blocking of the actors.

This encyclopedic volume of technical know-how is tempered with years of practical experience and a much-needed sense of humor. This is the ideal text for professional lighting technicians across film and television including lighting directors, gaffers, DOPs, and rigging crews as well as film and television production students studying lighting, camera techniques, film production, or cinematography. It includes a revamped companion website with supplementary resources, forms, checklists, and images.

Q: 7. Is this card adapter Compatible to the Sandisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-ll Card 128gb V90?

A: Yes, the Sony SD Card Adaptor should work with SDXC UHS-II cards when used with models that support the SDXC format (as opposed to SD and SDHC). However, according to Sony, there might be compatibility issues on the XDCAM EX models you're using as compatibility with SDXC is not guaranteed.

Q: 8. will this card work with pmw 300?

A: Yes, SORT OF. The PMW 300 records in FAT mode and UDF mode, but if you're using an adapter (regardless of how fast an SD card you put in it), the camera will only record in FAT mode.In FAT mode, the camera will only record up to 35mbps, so to get modern broadcast quality you have to be recording on the SxS cards that are supposed to go in the camera. This is in the user manual but was not made clear anywhere on the product pages. Most people won't notice a difference between the 35mbps and the 50, but if you're shooting a lot of action or movement, the extra 15mbps helps a lot.
