The Golden Age Project PRE-73 Jr MKII is a single-channel vintage-style microphone and instrument preamplifier. The signal path uses only discrete components such as resistors, capacitors, and transistors. The input and output stages are transformer balanced, with each transformer optimized for its purpose. This MKII version features a small format perfectly suited to the UNITE MKII rack kit.
By employing vintage analog circuitry and avoiding integrated circuits, the PRE-73 Jr MKII is able to deliver a prized vintage sound with up to 70 dB of gain. The circuit in the unit is similar to the classic 1073 module with a corresponding sound character that is warm, punchy, sweet, and musical. To reduce unwanted low-end rumbles, engage the 6 dB high-pass filter at either 40 or 170 Hz. To add presence to vocals and instruments, engage the two-position AIR boost to add 3 or 6 dB at 30 kHz. The preamp can supply 48V phantom power for microphones that require it.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Does this crane have any kind of a vertical brake? For instance if I want to lock off an overhead shot.
A: No, there is no lock on the ProAm USA Orion Jr. Once balanced properly, You can set the camera where you want it and it will not move once let go. However, there is no solid locking mechanism.
Q: 2. Do the lightbulbs have to be removed to fit into the bag? If so, is there a place to hold the 18 bulbs once removed?
A: No the bulbs do not have to be removed. If you want to remove them there is plenty of room in the case for all the bulbs. I hope this helps.
Q: 3. I have a BMPCC 6k, a Ninja 5 hooked up to a monitor and a Zoom F6 sound recorder with bluetooth. Should I get two sync devices or three? I feel that the Zoom F6 can link up on it's own but I'm not certain.
A: The Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Dual Set) (B&H# TETE2MK2) is a set of two timecode generators. Once the two are connected to each other wirelessly and synchronized, each can feed timecode into a device. One timecode signal would need to be recorded with the video recorder, and the other with the audio recorder. Since you are apparently feeding HDMI (with embedded audio) from the BMPCC6K to a Ninja V, one timecode generator could be on either the BMPCC6K or the Ninja V. However, most people would connect it to the camera, and that is the surer option. The other timecode generator should be connected to the Zoom F6. You could use three, but there would be no benefit; Two is enough for your setup. As for a situation in which you'd want more than two, you would add one more timecode generator with each additional video or audio recording device you would use. So, one more with an additional camera or external video recorder, another one with an additional audio recorder, and so on.
Q: 4. Does this connect to the Nikon D850
A: This cable is compatible with the Nikon D850 via the 10 pin remote connection.
Q: 5. What is the recommended weight to attach to the handle?
A: Counterweights are not included with cranes because of shipping costs. It is considered that barbells are available locally so that you may reduce your costs procuring them.According to the manufacturer, the counterweight ratio for the Orion Jr. is 3x the weight of the camera load. The counterweight bar accepts standard barbell type weights with a 1 center.
Q: 6. Can I sync a Logic session through UAD Apollo?
A: You can use the Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Dual Set) (B&H# TETE2MK2) to add a timecode signal to a single audio track. That can be fed into many devices that produce or modify audio, whether that is your computer using a DAW, a camera, or a field recorder. If you are using the Universal Audio Apollo Solo Heritage Edition Desktop 2x4 Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface with SOLO Core Real-Time UAD Processing (B&H# UNAPLSHE) then you will first need to have a means of inputting an audio track into your DAW so that all of the tracks may be read (including the one with the timecode) simultaneously.
Q: 7. Can I use this setup to remotely fire a D3 with pocket wizard in hot shoe with cable to 10 pin with another pocket wizard at a distance?
A: I have used the 10 pin cable plus the pre-trigger Adapter kit and a pocket wizard connected to my D200 Nikon and remotely fire it with another pocket wizard.
Q: 8. is this lens hood compatible with the nikon Af-S 300mm f/4D IF-ED? ( BH #NI3004DAFS )
A: No, the Nikon HB-73 Bayonet Lens Hood for AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4E PF ED VR is not compatible with the nikon Af-S 300mm f/4D IF-ED lens. The one made for it is not available but these will screw in and work, https://bhpho.to/3DUM7g5.
Q: 9. Is this compatible with Davis & Sanford PROVISTA18 ProVista Tripod and the FM18 Head?
A: While you will be able to connect this to the ProVista 18 this unit weighs 12 pounds before you add the camera and counter weights. The ProVista 18 has a load capacity of 18 pounds, it may not be enough with this unit. However ProAm makes a Camera Crane Stand specifically for this unit, it can handle a load capacity up to 100 pounds and is reasonably priced.
Q: 10. will this attach to the proaim P-js jib stand or is an additional part required? If so, what is the part needed?
A: The ProAm USA Orion Jr DVC60 4' Compact DSLR Camera Crane/Jib will mount to the Proaim P-JS Heavy-Duty Jib Stand without any additional parts.
