Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the Nikon SB-500 AF Speedlight work with using Yongnuo RF603 II wireless flash trigger? I am using a Nikon D50 for a camera body.

A: Unfortunately, your Nikon D50 body is not compatible with the Yongnuo RF-603N II Wireless Flash Trigger Kit for Nikon DC2 Connection due to the lack of DC2 connector on the D50. Therefore, you could not trigger the Nikon SB-500 Speedlight with the Yongnuo trigger.

Q: 2. Is the 272B background holder bar stronger then the Manfrotto 272? I want to hang a 9x20 Westclott green screen from it. Than you anyone for any and all help.

A: I don't see why the 272 or 272b isn't sturdy enough for most backdrops. However, an alternative is to buy a couple grip heads and run 10' of schedule 40 pipe between them.

Q: 3. Wil SB-500 Work with new Hasselblad X1d?

A: As per Hasselblad, the Nikon SB-500 can be used with the X1D in TTL mode.

Q: 4. What is the actual collapsed length of this pole end to end?

A: I just measured the pole and it is exactly 45 and 1/4 inches.

Q: 5. Are there holes at either end so it can sit on top of two light stands?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. will this flash work on the sony mirrorless cameras (specifically a9)? Thanks!

A: No, only flashes with multi interface shoes.

Q: 7. Anyone know if there's any way to take the sections apart for easier travel?

A: Greetings Scott. It collapses pretty short anyway. taking it apart would only shorten it by approximately 4 .

Q: 8. How to attach to a manfrotto autopole?

A: A superclamp and small pin would be needed

Q: 9. What is the maximum load weight?

A: This is designed to hold backgrounds it would not be suitable for any other purpose.

Q: 10. Will it work with a D90?

A: Most Nikons work with pretty much the same platforms, thus I think it will work. However, it is kind of a toy and I prefer to use the big boy flashes that are made for Nikon. It is light and portable and serves as a wink light or a travel flash, otherwise the SB series of Nikon flashes are best. Coates

Very sturdy and easy to use. Like the black finish too! Use this with stands that I have and are more sturdy than the cheap, ones you get in the less expensive background support kits. Eventually I may use it with C stands or even wall mounts. Very nice piece.

Great item. Does what it should. Might need a couple clamps for paper but often I don't. Mechanism where it slides out has some very light grease or oil. And it probably needs it. But it also kind of gets on your hand a little. Just a mini heads up.

I am using this to old a 107x150' roll of seamless paper, the heavy rolls. Yes, it deflects slightly, but it's holding just fine. I purchased a different crossbar, from a different manufacturer, but the end mount broke. This one has a better screw-clamp and is holding up just fine.

Great bar for holding backdrops. I have plenty of stands, so I didn't need the kit to go with it. With a 9 foot by 12 yard roll on it, it sags just a fraction in the center, but nothing to be worried about. If you get a paper roll with a cardboard core, you won't have any problems with this. Great for fabrics as well.

Great for all sizes of rolled backgrounds, I suppose it would even be good for drapes if you clapped everything down and let it hang from the rod. I'm headed out for my first shoot with this piece and did a test just to make sure it works as advertised. It did, I found that on one end the smaller end once extended is the end you'll use a clap to secure the paper, keeping everything parallel to the camera and ceiling. So with that said, this is perfect if you're looking for a fool proof way to hang seamless.

This holder collapses smaller than the bg bar that came with my stands. I use this to suspend bg paper with bicycle hooks that screw into the ceiling - eliminates problems with kids knocking down the bg holder stands.

I just wish it was about 2 feet longer, but otherwise it's perfect for what I do.
