If more power is needed, the CPU can deliver extra performance by increasing its clock speed up to 4.8 GHz utilizing Intel's Turbo Boost technology. System performance is further enhanced by 128GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM, which allows you to quickly access frequently used files and programs. It comes in an 8 x 16GB configuration and be upgraded to 256GB by using a 32GB module in each of the eight 288-pin DIMM slots.

For storage of your files, this system is equipped with both a 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD and 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. If you want to add external storage drives, optical drives, printers, memory card readers, or other peripherals, the EDGE XT2i features two 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 ports, both of which support DisplayPort video output, one 10 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, and six 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports. For users who wish to add additional components to the drive bays, there are four 3.5" bays and three 2.5" drive bays, plus one empty M.2 slot that supports SATA III and PCIe 3.0 x4 SSDs.

The dual dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics cards each have 16GB of GDDR6X RAM and deliver a sharp, clear picture, while allowing for multiple simultaneous displays to be used via its HDMI 2.1a and DisplayPort 1.4 outputs at resolutions up to 4K at 240 Hz or 8K at 60 Hz. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the integrated Realtek HD AC1220A audio controller outputs high-definition audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers. Wired network connectivity is achieved using dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, or take advantage of Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) for wireless network connectivity. Additional wireless peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse, and headset may be paired using Bluetooth 5.0 technology.

The NextComputing EDGE XT2i Creative Pro Workstation includes a Logitech MK270 wireless keyboard and mouse, plus a power cord. The installed operating system is Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).

After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.

Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.

After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.

For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.

Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.

Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

The Pro version of Windows 10 includes all of the features of Windows 10 Home plus many designed specifically for business users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.

Q: 8. Q: My granddaughter is 13 years old, I would like some advice on whether an Intuos pro Pen & touch tablet or a Cintiq 13 HD be appropriate for her age ? Currently using an Intuos Tablet -Tom

A: That depends on her skill level and dedication to art. The intuos pro is basically the best you can get for under $600, but if she's not that experienced and won't use it much, I'd recommend something like a Wacom Bamboo. PS- I'm 16, and I started doing digital art when I was 10. I had a Bamboo when I was her age, and just got an Intuos now. Anyways, I'm really happy with it now :-)

Q: 10. How can I get this to work with USB-C? is there a cable I can buy or does it work with the Apple USBC to USB adapter? I would prefer to buy a cable that plugs in directly.

A: It will work with any USBC to USB adapter, most likely. The cable it comes with is a pretty standard USB to USB-C cable. If you want to use it with Bluetooth, be sure to update the drivers; that took care of the rather significant lagginess I was experiencing at first. Now I use it mostly wireless.

Already, somethings I do are easier and more accurate with the pen than mouse or trackball, but still into it's learning curve.

This tablet comes with six versatile keys whose functions can be assigned different tasks depending on the program. Also, best to consider the small size particularly if you may consider mapping the surface of the tablet to correspond to a smaller area while still maintaining the full dimensions of your viewing platform.

This is a no brainer when it comes to processing photos in PhotoShop or similar. Hundred times better control than a mouse. This is my second one (first one was the wired model. Great purchase.

It is a well-established fact that Waycom is the way to go, period. However, I would like to see a slightly heavier pen and also, better instructions on real-world usage. For example, I didn't know what to do the first time the tablet fell asleep. I couldn't find anywhere how to wake it up. FYI, you press the round wheel button.

Maybe I am lucky but I have not experienced much in the way of glitches with this product.

It works fine for a variety of tools like Krita and other non PS tools although you don't have the level of integration with those that Photoshop has.

I used to have an older intuos model for photo editing, I decided to upgrade recently for drawing and painting. The older intuos had many problems. Here's hoping I don't have them on the new one.

System:
Win 10, 32Gb of Ram, Quadra M4000, Xeon 6 core workstation.

Plain and simple, I now understand why Wacom cost a lot more then the competition.
Had a different brand for about a year and it was ok(ish) but not as smooth or precise.

To say this is different from the mouse I have used for a very long time this feels odd. However, as I learn to use it I can feel that once I conquer it that it will be worth the struggle. Some say to just lock up your mouse and use the tablet. I may get there but for now, I like the combination of keyboard, mouse, and Wacom. Different tools for different jobs. We will see!!!

Had a smaller wacom for years, love the larger tablet and the bundle was an amazing bonus! Effortless to install and setup preferences!
